Narmada Kund i.e. the originating point of the holy river Narmada is situated in the hilly town of Amarkantak on the Maikal range of hills within Madhya Pradesh at an altitude of 3438 ft. According to Hindu mythology Narmada is one of the sacred rivers of India. After the river Ganges this river is considered as Goddess mother.
