Bir is a rural village located in the west of Joginder Nagar Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. It's the paragliding capital of India and the location of the Bir Tibetan Colony, founded in the early 1960s as a settlement for Tibetan refugees after the 1959 Tibetan uprising.

Bir Billing is one of the top most famous Paragliding hub located in HP.
Bir is such a lovely place & the beauty of Billing makes it more scenic when you feel it on the top of hills.
Paragliding here is Asia's 2nd highest point & probably the top most reason of more & more tourists here.
Bir has lots of other lovely tourist places ie waterfall, monasteries etc, in main town, lots of nice cafes, hostel etc, this take off site is located around 14km from bir & it's in billing, while the landing site is nearby town itself from where it takes around 15 min walkin to the main town.
Had a very wonderful experience here in trip, so much yummy food across different places, did paragliding, enjoyed waterfall, cafes etc. People here are very nice & supportive.

Awesome place. Gr8 landscape. World's 2nd best place for paragliding n 1 in asia. More over view is superb. If you are coming to this place you must hav ample time in your basket, bcoz weather changes quickly here which must be clear to do paragliding. If possible stay here atleast 1 night. Homestay here u can get at reasonable price abt rs.1500/- near abt. Paragliding costs u rs.3000/- per person. this place is pearl of himachal. Monastery n waterfall add to its beauty.
