The Northern Cafe — Restaurant in Himachal Pradesh

The Northern Cafe is located in a great spot with one of the best views in Bir. It offers a direct view of the famous landing site, where you can watch paragliders soaring through the air, and the panoramic view of the mountains is simply indescribable. I decided to visit this cafe for remote work, as I had heard it had proper workstations, Wi-Fi, and charging plugs, making it a good change of scenery. The cafe is a bit tucked away in a village, so it does require a bit of a walk to get there.

Upon reaching the cafe, there’s no denying the great view and the variety of seating options available. For remote workers, they’ve dedicated the first floor, which has a peaceful vibe and would have been perfect for working. However, unfortunately, when we tried to connect to the Wi-Fi, it was not working properly. Despite multiple attempts, the connection was very poor, which was quite disappointing. It’s always important for remote workers to have reliable Wi-Fi, and in this case, it wasn’t up to par.

Additionally, the service was lacking. We ordered tea several times, but it never arrived, which added to the frustration. There was only one staff member managing the cafe during the morning hours, which might have contributed to the delays and the lack of attention. Because of this, we didn’t get a chance to try any of the food items on the menu, which was unfortunate.

If you’re planning to visit The Northern Cafe for remote work, I recommend checking the Wi-Fi connectivity first to avoid the disappointment of a long walk for nothing. While the view and ambiance are great, the experience was hindered by service and...

The only reason to have visited this cafe was because it was suggested by a known, and it is worth it only because of the location and the little trek path you have to take to reach there. Beautiful location with chill and relaxed vibes. Next to the restaurant we saw go alive camps as well! If you are someone who would like to try an average service/food cafe but with great view, then this is the place because honestly food wasn't great and it was expensive! We ordered chicken cheese garlic bread, noodles, pizza, siddu, one peach ice tea, Nutella chocolate oreo milkshake, strawberry milkshake and cold coffe and out of which only peach tea and chicken garlic bread was worth eating!!! They forgot the pizza, so we cancelled it eventually!🙄 Noodles were overcooked and soggy, siddu was okayish (can find better tasting on the street at good price, it was priced at 250₹ here!!!, so not worth), cold coffee was ok (a little too bitter) and the worst was strawberry milkshake, which I ordered for my kid, and even she refused to drink! Service was okay, which is fine considering the place was full. We had to shift upstairs as it started raining. The seating upstairs is cute and cozy but be mindful of your head as the height is low and there is floor seating. Overall a cafe with great location but okay service/food. Our total bill was 1700 change as they added GST but if you pay via upi/cash, they remove that. So the price did not justify...

I wanted to give this cafe 0 star but Google doesn’t have that option. From food to its service to an arrogant and rude owner this cafe doesn’t go with the current rating . I had a very bad experience when I visited this cafe . My order arrived after waiting for more than 1 hour and to add to my disappointment I received a wrong order which I consumed and even paid for it . When I tried to had a discussion with the owner about the wrong order and poor service she was every rude . Highly disappointed and non recommended

Why not to visit - Food is ok but prices are at higher side, you can get very good options at this price

I cannot reply to your review but here it is . The idea was never to get a discount it’s just the way you responded to the situation being the owner when you ask the customers to leave when they give you the feedback and you calling your staff as illiterate!! And about coming to your cafe again well You know the answer !! About trying road side options you better know what bir actually offers ! Thanks again for the response...
