First and foremost, let me tell you about the price of using this service. For two persons, I have been charged rupees 1300 for a round trip. Further, the prices may rise on special occasions like Christmas, New Year etc.. Now, let’s talk about the experience. To be completely honest, I’m not a big fan of ropeways because of its shady working mechanism, yet I think this ropeway is one of the best in terms of quality and management. Everything is brand new and well maintained. There is a continuous security check and proper management system which I liked the most, as it bost you confidence. It has a paid parking lot, where you can park your vehicles overnight if you are staying at McLeodganj. In addition to that, the place is clean and well maintained. Washrooms are clean and a drinking water facility is also available. Waiting area is also good. You need to wait around 10 minutes in order to board. In a cabin, 8 persons are allowed, but they will not allow more than 5-6 persons. The ride is very smooth and it will provide you with great views of the whole Dharamshala city and Dhauladhar mountain ranges. The overall journey is about 15 minutes, and you may find it a bit boring in between, but the views will definitely help to pass your time. In my opinion, the prices are bit on higher side. It could be a little lesser so that everyone can think about using this service. Although it is a bit costly, yet it is a better way to reach McLeodganj than hiring a taxi which might rip your wallet apart. Overall, I definitely recommend you to try this atleast once. I can understand that it might get boring after multiple visit, but for the first timers, it is worth your money.

This is a must do when you are at Dharamshala.. costs 650 for return journey and 425 for a single journey and this is the best way to explore both the places Dharamshala and Mcleodganj markets and otherwise too.. if you are coming from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj then just outside the ropeway station, you get to explore the main market.. in case if you are going to Dharamshala then from the ropeway station you may have to walk down a little to reach the market or you can hire taxis which are available right outside..you may need to bargain though they are expensive and very little do they budge on the amount.. As for the journey in the ropeway it's beautiful to see the valleys and the mountains and is a great experience . My daughter loved it.. Also one piece of advice in case you are travelling on a Monday from Mcleodganj to Dharamshala then the Dharamshala market is closed on the day on that case better to take a return ticket and be seated in the same cabin and come back...in case you get out then you may have to wait upto 30 mins to get back in to the return cabin. When you travel the experience will say it all :) Happy Ropewaying!

So if u want to see the bird eye view of dharamshala and you dont have height fear then this is the adventure for you The ride start from dharamshala rope way building which is situated near by the Dharamshala bus stand , and from mecloedgunj side the skyway building is near by the monastery The charges for round trip is 500 and charges for one way trip is 300 U can take your time between the round trip and explore either the meclodgunj market or dharmashala market till 5:30 pm . The experience on the rope way is worth a try , u can watch snow dhauladhar mountains at the one and dharamshala city on the other end along with the beautiful trees and road for mecloadgunj . so 5 star from me since it was my first rope way journey

The ropeway is feom Dharamshala to Mcleodganj The place where it ends in Mcleodganj is on a Market Road or a Mall Road. So itbis very advantageous to take it. But there ias absolutely nothing at the Dharamshala end. So you need to take a cab or park your vehicle near to be able to move . There are interesting views on the way. You can see the complete valley and occasionally even para gliders of Bir Billing. It must be a hreatbride id it is snowing or if the weather is cloudy. You also can see the cricket stadium from top. The ropeway seema to be very safe and there were no hickups anywhere in between. The ticket seems to be a little on thw higher side. Could that be q reason for it being not too occupied ?

Breathtakingly beautiful!! I probably had the best bite of this experience. I booked my ticket for a weekday, 5:30 pm, just before the closing time of the skyway and around the sunset time. I had the entire gondola car to myself. I felt lucky to have had an eagle's-eye view of the surreal, subtle hues of the sunset as the car drifted in the sky towards Dharamshala. If you look skyward, you'll find the majestic dhauladhar hills cloaked in green, gray, and white, overlooking the landscape of McLeod Ganj and Dharamshala. As the car descends, gorgeous green hills slip past beneath you, and the city of Dharamshala comes alive with flickering, colorful lights gradually fading into the horizon.

Well it was pretty good experience being in there. People who r visiting 1st time & who want to go to mcleodganj & wanna come back the same day should take two way ride (going to mcleodganj & coming back to the place where u started). We personally bought one way ride which is around 400 rs for each person. But for 2 way ride the price was around 600.The choice depend on your preference. Also in 1 trolley 6 people are allowed to sit. We were 4 so 2 more people joined us. & u can click pictures, talk to strangers, sing songs & make reels & etc. We were joined by 2 foreigners so we had fun talking to them. but for me this was not scary. Better to go with friends :)
