The Royal Enclosure is an enclosed area covering around 59,000 sq. mts that was built during the Vijayanagara Empire. This place houses around 40+ structures/complexes used by the Royal Family for different purposes.

This site is definitely a marvel of planning and construction. It shows the genius engineers that our ancestors were.

An amalgamation of delicate art work, strong stone constructions and a well-planned town-ship which looks way ahead of its time. The complete enclosure is designed on the 'zero water waste' concept so that every drop of rain water is harvested through stone channels built in that era.
