Having situated at the heart of Imphal city, transportation to this place is at ease. Entry ticket is 10 Rupees per individual and trust me, it is totally worth visiting it. It is closed on Mondays and on 2nd Saturdays of the month. I have uploaded a picture depicting the same for your reference. You get to explore a lot about the Manipuri culture and it's history in this museum. Additionally, a gamut of exhibits will enhance your knowledge be it archaeology, biology, numismatics, history, tradition and culture of states of India, manuscripts and much more. You need to give atleast an hour to view and read everything diligently. You will be enthralled by the variety of exhibits and the information they posses. Photography is prohibited inside the museum. However, you are allowed to take snapshots outside the building.

Visiting the museum, one could see the main feature of the museum which is like 54-feet long royal boat called Hiyang Hiren(long boat used in Hiyang Tanaba), which you would find showcased in the open gallery. Not just this, but tourists from across the globe visiting the Manipur State Museum come across the historical dossiers, war weapons and tribal clothing to the range of royal artefacts exhibited including the ancient polo equipment and the costumes. Other than these, there are some other collections which are extraordinary and fascinating like the golden bird with canopy and gold-plated human mask along with skull. The massively structured museum provides plenty of other things to the tourists. In the sense, visitors can see even come across the agricultural and domestic equipment, Buddha relics, ancient smoking pipes, manipur textiles, tribal ornaments, lighters, and more. Apart from the conservation of archaeological discoveries, the Manipur State Museum conducts awareness programs, cultural appreciation courses and thematic exhibitions and that why it is a must visit and interactive tourist attraction in Imphal for people...
