Wooden Street - Furniture Shop/Store in Andheri East, Mumbai — Attraction in Mumbai

I waited for some time till I could write about my experience with Wooden Street. Till then all I did was wait for them to get their act together but today (27th Dec) they managed to just screw things up a little more so I’m compelled to write this review. We didn’t know what we are getting into when we placed an order for a Divan at the Chandivali ( Andheri East) store in Mumbai in the first week of November. Everything seemed fine and we were truly amazed by the furniture on display at their experience store. After speaking with Neha ( the lady supposedly in charge of pre- sales) at the store, it was confirmed we could go ahead with a custom made order which would be delivered to us on the 20th of Dec 2017, in time for Christmas. AND THIS WAS THE ONLY REASON WE PLACED THE ORDER. She asked us not to make major changes as the factory was in Rajasthan and there would be a communication gap if major changes were involved. SO WE WENT AHEAD WITH THE SAME LOOK AS SEEN ON THE WEBSITE AND JUST MADE IT SMALLER IN LENGTH AND WIDTH. We ordered the Dicaprio Divan in a Teak finish. Order placed:- 4th Nov Order No :- 25620 No call no update even after a month of placing the order .. fine. We call and mail and find out in the second week of Dec that the order is in quality check and should be dispatched to Mumbai on the 17th of Dec and should reach us by the 20th ( as told by the Mumbai team). We were happy with the response. On the 15th we call /send a mail, requesting them to confirm about the delivery date, only to be informed this time via mail that the order will reach us on 24th instead of the 20th. After asking Neha why has the date been postponed to the 24th and reminding her about what was told to her when placing the order, she replies in a callous manner, “ so you are getting it before Christmas right”.. no apology .. nothing about the fact that the order is delayed another 4 days. After a no of calls and messages to the store and customer service, I’m finally informed by Rahul who also works at the Mumbai store that the order will be with me on the 22nd for sure and not the 24th. Pankaj in charge of delivery from the store, confirms the same and sends me a picture of the Divan ready to be shipped, which I failed to recognise as the divan looked different from what was shown on the website. Neha explains that instead of using a MDF sheet as the base, stronger wooden panels were used, so I accept that reason as my furniture was already delayed. (NO ONE CARED TO INFORM US OF THE CHANGES IN THE DESIGN IF WE WOULD BE OKAY WITH IT). I then wait till the 22nd. No sign of it and not even a call about it’s whereabouts until my husband calls them and finds out the furniture was still not shipped. Rajiv a supervisor from Jaipur/ Udaipur has the nerve to tell me that the shipment was delayed because of some Hindu-Muslim riots in the area 😐which only perhaps was aired on news channels in Jaipur 😒🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ After that all we got were hanging up of our calls by Neha/ Rahul from the Mumbai store and series of lies. We refused to take our order on Christmas Day and asked for a delivery on 26th Morn and they insisted on getting it only in the evening as the product according to them was in Thane. When my husband yells at them and tells them he is going to lodge a complaint with the police, that’s when the product is shipped within half an hour. Thane to Andheri - half an hour 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Now the divan has arrived and the storage unit when opened is fine but when trying to close it, gets jammed in the corners because of a simple reason “No Brackets or drawer mechanism used” Which era are you functioning in Wooden Street ??? Maybe ₹31500/- was too less for you to care a damn but it’s hard earned money for us. Delays Lies Pathetic Customer Service and furniture that ends up below one’s expectations. I have proof for all of this if any of you care to get in touch and this time don’t bother to call or mail if you cannot do anything to solve all...

Terrible terrible experience and craftsmanship. Avoid at all costs! How do I give them ZERO stars? I I am convinced that most of the reviews which give them four and five stars are fake. it's impossible to believe that they can deliver such shabby products to someone and decent ones to others

The list of complaints is endless. The below attached are only some of the photos, I could attach a dozen more.

1. delayed delivery by 5 months
2. most unhelpful customer service by Nikita and the whole team
3. first product delivered was actually broken and had to be returned
4. MDF used liberally instead of wood at so many places in each product and when we complained they said please read the fine print, MDF is always there. Though when we had gone in Jan 2020 to their store, they had assured us no MDF is used, wood only and the furniture will never swell up in rains and won't catch fungus, all these have already happened and it's been only two weeks since the furniture has been delivered and it is still brand new.
5. all drawers cabinets are already swollen none of them are shutting each one is banging Into The Other
6. table tops have joints which are coming apart and are so visible
7. the worst possible finishing with cracks huge cracks in the legs and also on the very surface easily visible not been corrected before sending to customer
8. no follow up whatsoever. emails are unanswered when we wanted to talk to the founders as it is a Startup there was absolutely no response it's like they just don't care I WANT a full refund for both these products the TV console and the study table. If this is the condition when they are brand new I dread to think what will happen when monsoons actually set in and real rains start we will be left looking at these terribly BAD products all the time and getting so frustrated and angered with wooden street on a daily basis IT'S OUR HARD EARNED MONEY. MAYBE A JOKE to WOODEN STREET, IT IS NOT FOR US

Update - How have my issues been resolved? not one of them has been resolved. The shabby furniture and finishing which has been sent to me seems to have no resolution I sent you an email on 27th June 2020 , even that you have not replied to yet! today is 10th July 2020. You mean your extensive team takes 15 days to reply? pl show me if you have sent me a reply as yet, even once. I When we called, you said, yes read the fine print MDF is used liberally Now that I have taken this up publicly, you have responded for the first time on my google review! Please learn to face up and stop lying!!! You can reply on this google review itself, how you will resolve my issues of 8 out of 9 drawers being stuck, not going in because all the wood is already swollen and actual monsoons have just started, cracked legs, joints on study table top opening up, evident cracks on the surface and all this when the product is brand new, only 2 weeks old. Pictures dont lie, pl open your eyes and see the...

It isn't what they showcase..! Beware ! When I had moved to a my new house I had brought many Furniture items from another Brand (Starting with R...); All my family members including our friend and relatives who visited us, liked the furniture, it's design and Finish. Though the support wasn't exceptional from them, I don't regret now for having brought from from another brand.

I recently booked a Trundle Bed from Wooden Street, as I wanted one (specifically Trundle bed) for kids room very urgently , since the room was comparatively small.

I visited their HSR (Bangalore) showroom too, to have a personal feel/experience, and I liked the stuff over there as all the stuff displayed looked premium with good finish (atleast for display purpose); Later while looking at the website I had to believe what I saw; I believed that I would be supplied with similar product too...so I booked one..

And this is what I have to say...my experience. Pathetic....I wouldn't recommend anyone personally to go with this brand. Atleast within our community / and friends circle..a big no no to WoodenStreet

The gentleman who called me from their delivery department , gave me a call a day prior to the actual delivery day of the product, while I requested him for specific date/time of delivery (since I was traveling), he was so rude , he was speaking to me as if he was doing me a favor / giving me bed for free.

The product that was delivered wasn't even dusted properly. There was lot of loose dust on the entire product, especially the MDF plank that goes underneath the Mattress. I could see lot of Shoe / Scandal Impressions..what more you need when you buy something from these people....And I had to wipe out all that before it was assembled by their people.

The finish of the product pretty ordinary, not even 50% of the look what I had personally seen at their Outlet in HSR. -The straights weren't straight, -no proper sanding, was done prior to painting. -Lots of ups and downs on entire product, especially on the headboard. -Painting uneven, some corners and sections of the bed not painted /covered properly. -Pretty ordinary Job

Product damaged. Though not big ones,(meaning I could still use the product for what it is meant for) , the damage brought down the look , feel and finish of the product, especially the damaged edges.

Overall very poor finish as compared to what I had seen at their outlet , and one that I already own (of other Brand)

Another surprise I had this morning is about the wood material used to make this Trundle bed, Representative of Woodenstreet and the carpenter who came to do the touch-up this morning couldn't do much, apart from just applying some color/varnish they couldn't improve the look/finish of the bed. And to my SURPRISE, they confirmed that the wood material used was Sheesham Wood and not Mango Wood; The website specification shows as - Mango Wood. ...
