Palani Malai (Hill) is The Seat of Lord Muruga. Temple normally open from 05:30 AM to 09:00 PM. You should have to climb nearly 700 steps to reach almost 2500m height. Unfortunately Mobiles & Chappels are not allowed even from the foothill, but a lot of places are there to keep them safe. Wearing some modern dresses like low waist Jeans, sleeve less dresses, Burmuda, Lungi, tight Leggings were not allowed. But found some people wearing Jeans.

Toilet, drinking water & resting spots were available through out the way to the Temple. Cable car costs ₹50/person & Electric Winch costs ₹25/person service is also available for those who found difficult to get there through steps. Finally reaching the top, together with the temple beautiful scenary of the Palani Town, nearby areas, lake, roads & even Kodai Hills is awaiting.

You should have to take ₹10, ₹100 or ₹200 tickets for Darshan & sometimes long waiting required to enter the Sanctum. You will get a few seconds to see a Glimpse of Lord Muruga. After coming out a lot of counters were there providing Prasadam by paying cash, since mobile phones are not allowed UPI transactions are not possible.

You can spend a lot of time upon the hill without any restrictions. Facilities are available for those disabled persons to reach there & enter the Temple. Since it's too hot over the hill during sunny days, better to avoid mid...

Winch and cable car service is available to reach temple....

In winch two classes are there 15/- for normal and 25/- for first class... Cable car is of 25/- each... Panchamirtham of 35/- in plastic bottle and 40/- in tin... For tonsure 15/- for government but the barbers are very rude they will demand more money...

Suggest to take both winch and cable car... While going use winch and while coming back in cable car but ensure to leave shoes in hotel else if it is winch then one has to take horse cart ride to reach winch area which is of a km or so... Horse cart for a km is 50/-

People can opt to climb stairs which of apprx 800 but easy to climb or there is a quick ramp to avoid stairs.... Guava is very cheap to buy...

NOTE : ON THE WAY TO TEMPLE AFTER TONSURE THE SHOP KEEPERS MAY STOP PEOPLE MENTIONING THAT THEY WILL GIVE SANDAL FOR FREE... BUT LATER ENTERING INTO THE SHOP THEY WILL FORCE TO BUY SOME POOJA STUFFS AND THEY MAY CHARGE 2000/- OR SO.... PLEASE DON'T FALL IN SUCH TRAPS.... ALSO THEY MAY OFFER YOU THAT WITH THEIR REFERENCE THEY WILL HELP TO SEE SHRINE .... BUT IT IS FALSE COMMITMENT....

LISTEN TO THE SHRINE AUTHORITY AUDIO UPDATES...
