VOC Park, Erode — Attraction in Tamil Nadu

VOC PARK {V O Chindambaranar Park} is a large property, in the centre of Erode city! This has many TOURIST ATTRACTIONS and few of them are very poor or redundant ! The Park was created in 1912, by the famous Thanthai Periyar!

Main TOURIST ATTRACTION CENTRES are: Gandhi Statue Anjaneyar Kovil Children's Park Durgah (400 years + Old) Government Museum Sculpture Museum Main Entrance to V.O.C. Garden, A Building like Redfort EIDGAH Masjid Water Body Garden Area Bad weather Shelter Erode Water Supply Project Running Stream Water body / Pond V.O.C. Walking Ground Children's Play area Few Statues Open Ground Stadium with Sports facility / Exhibition Ground Central Library (Nearby) 22..... Many other components.... some are useful (if maintained) and some are almost gone! (Few of them are not worth Photography as they are very shabby .)

As Traveller-Photographers. we made our attempt to learn the details - but failed . Proper guidance, boards etc are totally absent . We took guidance from locals, shops & even autos, they could not guide us properly. ## Some of the components are very good and are miss used by miscreants ! Few locals even objected us to take Photos ! Some places are OK - but few paces smell very badly . Authorities need to attend maintenance, please

Voc park is very historical park small ground for athlectic meet.. Distt. There is a swimming pool. There is a hostel for dist sports participants with coach. One basket ball cout metalgound. Volley ball court non metal ground (was) Football ground. Running tracks. Daily morning local shopowners buszinessman used to walk. Run. Daily. Basket ball ground has spectator galleries. One old small museum by erode MC. One big hanimar temple is there maintenance by bussiness people of north in indian community. A children park with a small train. But not seen working train. Very often the vacant areas used for circus tents. Only two wheeler can passthro the park. At times that small real park is filled with waste people including bad guys and girls wasting their time in. The main drinking water tank for the whole corporation area is situated. North of the voc park Lic north branch is in own BUilding. South of the park erode general...
