Absolutely stunning natural beauty besides the river bank. Naya Ghat, situated along the sacred Saryu River, is currently undergoing a significant transformation, promising to become a more organized and devotee-friendly space. The ongoing construction is focused on enhancing the ghat's infrastructure to better serve the thousands who visit for religious rituals and spiritual solace. Positive Developments: Dedicated Saryu Aarti Platform: The construction of a dedicated platform for the Saryu Aarti is a welcome addition. This will provide a structured and spacious area for devotees to participate in the evening rituals, ensuring a more organized and serene experience. Improved Bathing Steps and Safety Features: The new steps leading down to the river are being built with safety and convenience in mind. The addition of safety markings and railings will significantly reduce the risk of accidents, especially during crowded times. Enhanced Devotee Facilities: The development includes the creation of multiple public toilets and changing rooms. This is a crucial improvement, addressing the basic needs of visitors and promoting hygiene. These facilities will be a welcome relief, especially for those traveling from afar. Areas of Concern and Urgent Appeal: Construction Disruption: As with any major construction project, there is currently some disruption and inconvenience. However, the anticipated long-term benefits are expected to outweigh these temporary issues. 🙏Environmental Responsibility: It is imperative that we, as visitors, respect the sanctity of the Saryu River. I strongly urge everyone to refrain from discarding plastic bags, bottles, or even puja items into the river. These pollutants degrade the river's purity and harm its ecosystem. Maintain the Integrity: This river is not only a source of water but also a symbol of faith and tradition. We must collectively ensure its cleanliness and preserve its integrity for future generations. Overall: Naya Ghat's redevelopment holds immense promise. Once completed, it is expected to provide a safer, more organized, and spiritually enriching experience for devotees. The inclusion of essential amenities like toilets and changing rooms is a significant step forward. However, the success of this project hinges on our collective responsibility to maintain the river's purity. Let us all pledge to treat the Saryu River with the respect it deserves, ensuring that Naya Ghat remains a sacred and pristine...

Naya Ghat in Ayodhya is a prominent riverbank along the sacred Sarayu River, offering a blend of spirituality, history, and scenic beauty. It is a key pilgrimage spot in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, and attracts devotees, tourists, and locals alike. The ghat is famous for its religious significance, mesmerizing views, and well-organized facilities that enhance the visitor experience.

Religious and Cultural Significance

Ayodhya is one of the holiest cities in Hinduism, and the Sarayu River holds immense religious importance. According to mythology, taking a dip in the river at Naya Ghat is believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual liberation. Pilgrims often perform rituals, offer prayers, and participate in religious ceremonies here. The ghat is especially lively during Hindu festivals such as Ram Navami, Deepotsav, and Kartik Purnima, when thousands of devotees gather to seek blessings. The Sarayu Aarti, held every evening, is a breathtaking spectacle, with priests chanting Vedic hymns, lighting lamps, and creating an atmosphere of divine devotion.

Naya Ghat is well-developed, with clean surroundings, wide steps leading to the river, and well-maintained seating areas for visitors. The view of the Sarayu River at sunrise and sunset is stunning, making it a favorite spot for meditation and photography. The ghat is also illuminated beautifully at night, enhancing its charm.

One of the most striking attractions here is the floating musical fountain, which adds a modern touch to the ancient city’s charm. The ghat is also home to several temples and statues of Lord Rama and other deities, enriching its spiritual aura.

Tourist Attractions and Activities

Apart from religious rituals, visitors at Naya Ghat can enjoy boat rides on the Sarayu River, offering a peaceful and scenic experience. Many tourists also explore nearby attractions like Ram Ki Paidi, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhavan, and the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Very nice place to visited. Saryu river is famous for taking holi bath. The Rams temple is excellent. Ram Ki Paidi is the attractive bathing ghat built for the convenience of multitude of Ram devotees to have a sacred bath in holy Sarayu waters. Ram ki Paidi was constructed during 1984 near Nayaghat on the banks of river Sarayu in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Here we find number of ghats, which are crowded during festival days and in other days in normal number of devotees taking bath to wash of their sins. That means Sarayu would take their sins and while so purifying them she becomes impure for getting all their sins to become a greater sinner and ultimately carries it to the sea to make the sea water more Salter than what it is.

It is said here that these ghats were in a hopeless condition and damaged. Hence the state government got all these 25 ghats renovated. The devotees do visit the Ram ki Paidi to have a holy bath. There are long flights of steps that go in parallel lines on both sides of the river. These bathing ghats are raised for the convenience of the huge number of pilgrims who come here to have a holy dip. The water in the Ram ki Paidi is drawn from Sarayu by Motor Pumps.

These series of bathing ghats (25) are located near the bridge on Ayodhya and Gorakpur high way at a distance of 3km from Ayodhya railway station. The Ram ki Paidi runs from the said bridge upto Laxman ghat. The beautiful garden and the reservoir are an added attraction to this place.

Ayodhya is in Faizabad District in Uttar Pradesh at a distance of 6km from Faizabad, 135km from Lucknow and 190km from Varanasi. The languages spoken here are Hindi, English and Urdu. The best Season to visit is October to March. The weather in summer will be 17 to 36°C and in winter 4 to 26° .The nearest Airport is at Lucknow and there is Railway station at Ayodhya at Faizabad Junction. Every day thousands of people Hindus, Muslims and others visit this place either as a sacred place or out of curiosity. There are many hotels and eating places. Hence visitors have no worry for food and...

Naya Ghat in Ayodhya, perched gracefully on the banks of the Saryu River, blends serene spirituality with modern amenities for a peaceful and reflective visit . Naya Ghat was constructed in the 1960s, just north of Svargadvara Ghat, and built around the same time as a bridge and garden, reflecting Mughal-era planning while maintaining a sacred ambience . The site is believed to have been historically significant as a place where Lord Ram and Lakshman are said to have bathed, bestowing spiritual purification for visitors . With an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 from thousands of reviews, Naya Ghat is praised for its cleanliness, safety, and well-maintained infrastructure including toilets and changing rooms . Accessibility features are robust, with facilities like wheelchair ramps and car parks making it family- and senior-friendly . The nightly aarti ceremony at sunset infuses the Ghat with energy and devotion, making evening visits especially meaningful. A mini-temple video light-show enhances the spiritual vibe during these times . Visitors can enjoy boat rides departing from Naya Ghat—most notably the Jatayu Cruise, an air‑conditioned vessel offering an 18 km round trip to Guptar Ghat with folklore, mythological visuals, and onboard refreshments—all for around ₹300 per person. The cruise operates multiple times daily, including early morning and evening slots, and lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours . Plans are underway to introduce more electric catamaran and hybrid boats with improved docking and infrastructure along this river route . For devotees and pilgrims, Naya Ghat serves as a sister to Ram Ki Paidi—a more widely known ghat situated nearby—and offers similar bathing rituals with fewer crowds and a quieter atmosphere . Local vendors at and around the Ghat sell sweets like pedas and jalebis, as well as religious offerings, creating a charming and flavorful experience . There is no entry fee, and the Ghat is open 24 hours
