Our family of four had an outstanding tour. We were picked up in Nusa Dua at 2:30 AM and we enjoyed a wild drive through the mountains. We arrived in Lovina around 5:30 AM and promptly met the tour operator and our driver. By 6 AM we were in the boat. It took 'bout 45 minutes to find the first pod of dolphins. Thirty minutes later we were watching scores of dolphins swimming and spinning in the water. We paid for the 'swimming with dolphin' option. My wife and sons and I took turns holding a swing Hanging from the side front of the boat. We looked straight down and saw more than 50 dolphins swimming below. It was breathtaking. Our boat captain was alert ~ he did not drive straight toward the pod and thus scare the dolphins. We hung back and waited for other boats to over persue. Tip: bring a GoPro. We wish we would have bought one. Lastly, we went to the area with amazing / fresh coral. It is in much better shape than the coral in the other Bali snorkeling tours. Thus, there were many different types of fish. The subsequent shower / changing room / meal with Bintang was Splendid. This trip...
Read moreANIMAL ABUSE AND CRUELTY! Do not book this or any other dolphin tour in lovina. What first looked very scenic and nice turned into the worst experience we had on our holiday. We drove out at 6am, with CROWDS of people. We were quickly joined by at least 50 boats. Once a dolphin was unlucky enough to have to come up for air, all 50 boats started chasing. The air smelled like gasoline, the noise was everywhere. One dolphin hat a fresh cut and was excessively bleeding from beeing run over by boats. The chase didn’t end for two hours, once the dolphins got up for air 50 boats followed and blocked all escape. Do not get fooled by the dreamy pictures, unterwater diving etc. The pictures apparently are taken in the rarest of moments. After seemingly endless hours of a literal HUNT we went for a snorkeling trip to the reef nearby. Everything was dead, grey and brown. Full of coral bleech and an occasional fish that were well outnumbered by waves of plastic in the water. We didn’t know before we booked and felt horrible for participating in this...

You start your day with coffee before the tour. Breakfast was included & provided at the end of your tour. The restaurant is right by the ocean.
The tour includes both dolphin chasing & snorkeling at the coral reefs. The dolphins were incredible! Saw baby dolphins swimming alongside their moms and plenty of dolphins jumping out of the water doing tricks. We were lucky and some moments the dolphins were swimming 1m below us.
At the reefs, there were decent amount of fish & a ton of blue starfish.
We took the 9am tour (though they did offer 6am as well) just to beat the crowds — it was the right choice. It was just us and 6 other boats at the end of our dolphin chasing 🐬
Tips: wear a one-piece swimsuit because the force of the water WILL make your bottoms fall off when your chasing after them😂 don’t use a waterproof plastic case for your phone, the force of the water can still leak in (it’s that strong) – instead opt to bring your own waterproof camera with case...
