The temple itself is beautiful. The water blessing also beautiful. The $$$ not so much. $30000 entry each $30000 for offering -I put the money into the donation box and THEN they told me “now $30000 for offering” so I had to pay another $30000 Then they got us a guide- no sign saying you have to pay the guide- at besikah it was a donation tip, so we assumed we could tip $100,000 Went through the prayer with the offering, then to get into the water we had to rent sarong, $20000 each Then rent a locker $30000 The water purification was nice, much like Tirta empul (which was completely free for us with our driver 1 year ago) THEN the guide says “Thankyou, that’s $150000 each please”
So the water blessing ended up costing us au$50 (plus the driver $50) and I walked out feeling very UN blessed and very ripped off
I wouldn’t recommend people do it unless they’re aware of the COST (not donation, not tip) first and are happy to pay.
We have a small daily budget and this completely blew our budget out of the...
Read moreI was sleepy as hell when I came to this temple, thus could not take proper pictures and enjoy any water purification rituals. However, from my faded impression I could see this is a big complex. The guys at the water pools said I need to go from one pool to another, then take a shower at the third pool. However it is all optional some guys jumped straight to the third pool for a wash then walked out. Some only did one pool and stayed there to chill. I was so faded and also did not bring a towel so I opted out. There is a big water temple with the bayan tree for offerings and a higher temple for praying. All are allowed as long as you bring offerings and praying.
I think I will come back as I missed out the water purification. Ticket is 30k and It is local and nice. The holy water fountains here are super strong, makes it look very satisfying yet the vibe is like a social bathhouse afterwards. It is definitely a kind of holy local bathhouse as people come in and out with their towels...
Read moreMoney-grabbing be careful! I visited this place as there were a lot of positive reviews. Paid the entrance that comes with free sarong. I met a guy on my way down to the springs, asked me where I was from and said it would be 100k idr to do the purification. Never heard this before. I met some tourists that are leaving the place and they looked happy, they said they will explain what to do and said they just gave a donation. The same guy followed me around and was taking me to pay another 1,000 idr for another sarong. I did not want to pay and just stood there watching the people. Another guy approached me as the initial guy was leaving talking to him and kept saying 'Canada'. I hated the entire thing, how beautiful spots can get touristy, how my country is a factor for the experience, and on top of it all, in a holy place. Be warned and be vigilant when you visit. Do not pay anything more than the entrance, again you can...
