We went here October 14 2019. We reached here through private rented vehicle with driver. We were very lucky to witness their festival on that day. Many worshippers were there. It was a totally fulfilling cultural immersion. We witnessed their beautiful dances, music, costumes, rituals, offerings, decorations and culture. There was an entrance fee but it was affordable. Guests can borrow their sarong. But of course those were used by other guests previously. If you want, bring your own to cover the waist down to your feet. Please respect their tradition in the temple. So we just have to follow their rules. The temple compound is big and there are souvenir shops too. Haggle for a lower price. We didnt find a decent restaurant though. Maybe at the shops outside the compound. By the way, incense burning at many spots. You would definitely smell like incense upon going out.

I had a very spiritual experience here following the ceremony. But expect to pay for everything. You have to pay to enter which is fair, then pay for the outfit to enter the temple which everyone has to wear. Then if you want to participate in the ceremony you have to more. The fabric smell as humidity and doesn’t look like they have washed in years. If you want to take picture, you have to ask one of the locals, who will extort you for more money (around £10 for each person). This is the only place in Bali where I felt I was being squeezed for money. The place in itself is beutiful and the energy is something I have never felt before, but did feel all the locals were annoying.

The 'Holy Water' temple is a popular name for this location. Only a few individuals will refer to this location as Tirta Empul Temple. This location also has a fish pond that you will appreciate. There are around 26 showers with various prayers. Many people think that it will rid you of negative energy and bring purity into your life. To have a better understanding of them, I recommend getting some information from locals. Because this is a sacred site, you must dress in long clothing to get access; otherwise, you will be required to wear certain extra materials, which are fairly common.

I'm sure once upon a time this was a pure and spiritual place for us it didn't really feel spiritual. WATCH OUT FOR THE CAMERA MEN HERE. We had a bad experience with ours. We said we wanted a few photos while taking taking part in water purification he agreed and said he would send them across via WhatsApp. After the purification he said he had 100+ photos and was asking for a crazy price. We said we only wanted a few photos he refused to show us any photos unless we took the full 100. Felt truly scammed in the end we just said no. Overall experience not bad nothing special feels like the whole place is a business and not a place of...
