Over-crowded and service dropped. There are many other brands and outlets at better price and service around the area. Just cross the road.
I was having my hair spa session at this outlet on 2-Aug-2025. I made a booking earlier and arrived on time.
The session started off well with the therapist doing a good job with the scrub etc. Towards the end, they used the hair spa machine on me and was required to have that for 20mins.
After the 20mins, the person that came back to service me was the counter receptionist. I was directed to the hair wash area and this is when the nightmare begin. I have no issues about changing therapist as I could see that my orginal therapist had gone on to service another new customer.
However, the receptionist that washed my hair isn't even trained to do a proper job.
The following happened: (1) Water used to wash the hair is cold... really cold...
(2) Towels were not used to cover the neck and back properly.
(3) While washing the hair, it seems to be a hasty job. Water from the shower head spray into my ear and I had blocked ears with water.
(4) After washing, there was no attempt to dry up my hair at the hair wash area. She just finished washing the hair and asked me to walk back to the chair area. My hair was wet and dripping water down my face and the back of my neck. I had to attempt to use the only small towel to hold and cover my hair to prevent as much water from dripping down my face as possible.
(5) While I was walking to the chair, water from my hair were dripping on the floor as I walk back. You can imagine how wet my hair was. I never encountered anything like this before.
(6) She then proceed to use the hair dryer. Oh my God... You can actually see water droplets flying off my hair when she used the dryer. It shows how wet my hair is. Why did she even not try to towel dry the hair further before even using the hair dryer.
(7) She realised my hair was not drying and asked another therapist to finish drying my hair and then proceed to attend to another customer.
(8) Finally my hair was dry and the therapist left me. She rush over and ask me to move to the counter area. That's like the only thing she was concerned about. TO MAKE ME LEAVE so that another customer can take my seat.
(9) I told her I needed to use the hairdryer on my t-shirt. The back of my t-shirt is wet from the water dripping down my hair after the wash.
(10) So imagine this. I was there sitting on the chair and using the hairdryer myself and attempt to dry my own t-shirt.
What an experience! I feedback this incident to the counter in-charge and she apologised saying this is not their standard and end of conversation.
Well..... I received your standard and I will not be going back. There are many other better choices.... This used to be good... but no...
Read moreI am submitting this review against Eska Wellness (Singapore) Pte Ltd for a negligent hair service performed on 22 June 2025, between 2:26 PM and 6:30 PM SGT. The salon's root perm procedure severely damaged my hair and scalp due to improper technique, lack of assessment, and failure of professional care. My hair, which was healthy prior to treatment (as per LAST PICTURE), is now elastic, brittle, patchy, and curling at the wrong places, with visible scalp redness and pain.
I. RULES BREACHED
Eska Wellness breached multiple legal obligations:
Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 (Section 12(a)): Requires all service providers to perform work with reasonable care and skill.
Tort of Negligence (Common Law): A duty of care exists between professionals and clients. Breach occurs when standards fall below what a reasonable salon would do, leading to foreseeable harm.
Duty to Warn and Assess: Salons must assess whether hair is suitable for chemical treatments—this includes asking about bleach history and conducting a strand test, both of which were negligently omitted.
II. APPLICATION OF THE LAW
At Eska Wellness, the stylist failed to:
A. Ask when I last bleached my hair
B. Perform a strand or scalp test
C. Use appropriate technique for my bleached hair
D. Supervise or intervene during visible signs of damage
Despite immediate signs of damage, no senior staff stopped the process until the damage was done. I was later told by another hair stylist, Mr. Harsono, that my hair "may recover in 2 months", and was given only a one-time Repair Inside mask which still did not repair the damage already caused.
Since then, I have experienced severe hair and scalp deterioration, requiring a minimum of 12 months of corrective treatment as advised by a clinical doctor, specialised dermatologist, and independent hair stylists.
III. CONCLUSION & RELIEF SOUGHT
This is a case of professional negligence with prolonged dermatological and trichological impact. I am demanding:
Specific damages: Full reimbursement of current and future treatment (estimated $800–$1,000/month)
General damages: Compensation for pain, suffering, loss of confidence, and daily hardship
Mode of Claim: Lump sum to be agreed in a single global settlement.
I request that Eska Wellness and its Singapore-registered parent company contact me directly for resolution. Otherwise, I will proceed to file a civil claim through the Small Claims Tribunal in Singapore, naming Eska Wellness (Singapore) Pte Ltd as the responsible party.
I reserve all rights to escalate to further legal action if not contacted within...
Read moreCame here when I saw the high ratings on Google. Don’t trust those! We booked a 2.5hr massage package. However, the entire duration took nearly 4 hours!! There are 1.5hr of waiting/ don’t know what’s going on/why am I here/why am I going up and down and up and down the stairs/and WHAT ARE THEY DOING. We booked at 10am slot (was told that’s the earliest slot), then when we reached at 10am, they told us the massage will only start at 10:20…. Maybe my expectation was too high? But I thought the first thing to a massage is to wash your feet (when you have foot massage + oil massage) and the last thing is to have a warm ginger tea. But no! Nothing. They just told me to get naked and jump into the bed. And when it finishes, just bye bye. DON’T DO THEIR HAIR SPA. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. They asked us to go up and down and up and down the stairs, don’t seem to have a place for us to stay. The staff doesn’t really seem to know what she is doing. No towel at the beginning when they are washing my hair, and the staff’s nails were scratching my neck (constantly) when they are trying to wash away the mask. And don’t forget the ice cold water, told the staff three times it was too cold, the temperature didn’t change and I just give up. And during the hair mask, they seem to be doing some head massage(???) I don’t know because they kinda touched me but not really massaging me. So I really don’t understand the point of the hair spa. My experience at regular hair salons are better than this one. From the website, we thought the eye treatment was supposed to be a warm/heat mask to reduce dark circles, however it was ICE COLD. The staff said eye mask and put it on my eyes without warning. Imagine my shock and chills. As for the oil massage, I believe people enjoy different kind of strength. It’s a personal choice. But this is one of the lightest touch I have ever had. The staff said to let her know if it hurts. Hmmmm half of the time, I can’t even tell if she is massaging me or just patting me. So if you enjoy a firm/strong pressure, this is not the place. Well, with all the above, I don’t know how, but we walked out the store at 1:50pm…. 4 hours of disappointment. And we are the last ones to board our ferry because our buffer time are eaten by the massage. But luckily we made it to the ferry...
