A2 Food Court is one of the largest and most popular hawker centers in Batam, Indonesia.
Located at JI. Baloi Kesuma Indah Blok L-10 Penuin, Batam 29432, it offers a wide variety of food from different cuisines.
Highlights: multi variety of Food stalls serving everything from seafood to satay, Hainanese chicken rice, mee rebus, cendol, and Hong Kong-style roast meats. We ordered mee hoon kueh soup for IDR35K, fried prawns mee IDR38K, wanton mee IDR35K, laksa IDR25K, char kueh teow. Taste wise is good.
Atmosphere: The food court has a semi-open air setting, which makes it lively and enjoyable, especially in the evenings and we opted for open air since its a nice day; not raining yet breezy.
Affordability: One of the best parts about A2 Food Court is the affordability of the food, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of dishes without breaking the bank.
Operating Hours: Most stalls in the outdoor section open around 4 PM, and the food court is bustling with activity until late at night. We ate tgere from 6:30pm till 7:30pm. The place was almost fully occupied.
We saw, at there, Win Seafood popular for their Salted Egg Crab, Nasi Ayam for their Kampung Chicken Rice, Pui Che for their Sate Kambing, Mie Lendir for their mee rebus, Cendol Nyonya for their Cendol Mutiara, BBK.HK for their Sio Bak, and Heng Lai Otak Otak.
It's a great place to experience the local food culture and enjoy a meal with...

My honest opinion is that this place is not ideal for people who values cleanliness over food.
Ambience/environment: overcrowded rowdy customers everyone is smoking, not good entire place is littered with trash. Appreciate the cleaners who try their best to clean up when customers leave, but the customers littering the place with food scraps, otak leaf and used tissue paper is unacceptable.
As a result of the above, we didn't dine here. We just ordered some food to takeaway.
Food quality: didn't try many stalls as we decided to takeaway our food due to poor ambience/environment satay is so-so chicken wing tastes normal, not as nice as Singapore standard Mie Ekonomi tastes good! Nasi goreng (from a stall run by Chinese auntie) is nice too drinks stall sells variety of drinks, normal standard
Overall, I must admit that the stall vendors whom we bought food from, they are really friendly. Even though they don't speak English, they try their best to take orders, and even ask other people for help in translation. There was a lady who even ran after us because she gave us lesser change. Really honest :))
In summary, can come for a local experience. Can try dining in if you can accept. Otherwise, just order takeaway back to eat in the comfort of...

We really enjoyed the food hereādefinitely better than our experience in Nagoya FoodCourt where the drink vendors were way too aggressive. Here, the vibe is much more relaxed and enjoyable.
We tried a variety of dishes: grilled satay with peanut sauce, crispy chicken wings, cheesy fried bananas, and oyster omeletteāall delicious and freshly served. Everything was full of flavor and well-cooked. The atmosphere is lively, and the food presentation was great.
However, a few things to note: ⢠ā Skip the whole coconutāit looked promising but wasnāt sweet at all. ⢠š§ Plain bottled water costs IDR 8,000, which is crazy for just water. ⢠ā ļø Avoid stall A5 StingRay BBQ stall, we ordered Petai with Anchovies for IDR 50,000, expecting a decent portion. Instead, we got a tiny plate with petai cut into little bits. Not worth it.
TIPS if youāre visiting: Sit closer to the big fanāit gets hot. Remember your table number, and snap a photo of your order and the price in case you forget. Bring a portable fan if you sweat easily!
Overall, a great place for tasty local eats, just be mindful of what you order. Weād...
