Kamaya Spa — Attraction in Batam City

I was there in Nov 2022 for the Half Day Bliss package consisting of Aromatherapy body massage, foot reflexology and deep cleanse facial. I was deeply disappointed and had a scarly experience. Firstly, the two staff who attended to me have poor understanding of English. The aircon was a bit cold so I told her to raise the degree, instead she switched it off. Then the music played was very loud, so I told her to lower the volume as it was giving me a headache. The background music was turned off instead now I could the staff outside talking very loudly. Even though it suppose to be Aromatherapy treatment, however, no essential oil was used. The massage was not enjoyable for me as I had to tell her not to exert too much pressure as at one stage I felt my chest hurt and the foot reflexology was a flopped as she massaged more on my ankle and calf muscle rather than my foot. When she was about to do my facial massage, I stopped her as I couldn't take it anymore and asked for a change of staff. She misunderstood and thought I wanted the Deep Cleanse Facial now. So she called for the person to come. Never mind, I thought maybe it was for the better. It was a nightmare instead. When the facial cleansing began, it was then I realised she is not a trained beautician. When she used the facial cleanser electric brush to scrup my face, it was so painful that I had to stop it. When she put on the mask paste on my face, I felt itchiness and burning sensation and told her to quickly wash it off. Her action was so slow, in the end I got off from the massage bed and rushed to the basin to wash it off. I could see in the mirror that my forehead and cheeks were red and swollen. After reading the ingredients of the mask, it contains Menthol. Before I left the place, I informed the receptionists what happened and told them the staffs need to upgrade their skills and technique and to check their products. The 2 drivers whom picked us up and sent us back to hotel as arranged by spa were prompt, friendly and helpful in our luggages and my elderly parents up and down the vehicles. The spa staff need to improve in their skills to manage customers and be organised. The counter staff should try their best to help customers to choose suitable packages as 4 of us were clueless as to what to start with. The spa staff should speaker with customers and perhaps arranged for a form to fill up on whether there were any pre-existing injuries or surgeries and which part of the body need extra gentle care when massaging. My elderly parents and sister have kneecaps problems and had surgeries few months back and instead of arranging for a ground floor room, they had to climb 2nd floors and 3rd floors to their rooms since there are no lift just stairs. After massaging, masseuse proceed on to scrub my body and just covered me with a thin cloth without any thoughts that the aircon was in full blast and blowing at me and my sister. And masseuse just walked out of the room. Eventually I caught a cold and had to request the other masseuse to help me off the aircon. The masseuse didn’t let us choose our aromatherapy oil and scrub to use. The scrub used on my body smelled fishy and unpleasant. We visited Batam recently frm 25th to 28th August, 2023 and wish to try out massage at Kamaya Spa after reading all positive review frm others, so we booked the Kamaya Couple Ritual Package which includes 90mins Aromatherapy Full body massage, 30mins Neck and shoulder massage & 30mins Body Scrub.

Upon arrival at Kamaya Spa we were greeted by their lovely and friendly receptionist and within minutes we were escorted by their masseuses to our private couple's massage room which was cozy, clean and relaxing atmosphere with attached shower & jacuzzi. We really enjoyed the massage treatment by their experienced masseuses throughout the 2.5hrs & worth it.

My wife did a 90mins full body massage on our 2nd day when my cousin & hubby arrived & they too enjoyed their treatment at the spa.

On our 3rd day we all booked for a 90mins Aromatherapy Foot Reflexology massage & it was done in private room too.

On my last day my wife did a 90mins Hot Stone Healing & she claimed it's really good & recommended for those who never try it before.
