hi i went here in January 2024 i have few points to help others that i observed 1-- no need to get a tour just rent a car or a scooter and go there your self a very nice drive i rented a car so nice and easy and you can stop along the way good spots for pics . 2-- when you get there there are many shops and many people are sitting around offering you a boat to take you to to spots for snorkeling , completely ignore them . 3-- go straight there is a street along the beach one side is the car park don't park your car there drive to the opposite side and turn left . 4--- it will take you up a hill and then turn left where you will be stopped as there is a car park there they charge 5000 local currency you can park your car there for scoters its less money . 5--- park your car and there are stairs going down to the beach 6--- as you go down you will find local women will try to sell you stuff expect rip off prices 7-- once you keep going down you will see a little restaurant and you can rent the gear there the rate what she gave me was 50k for flippers and goggles - but then this price can be negotiated i was able to negotiate her for a better price . 8---go down to the beach find a spot and get in 9-- depends on the day and tides you will see fish for sure depends if you go a little deeper that's where you will see many fish but if you stay very shallow you will still see fish but not many . 10-- once you are finished you return your gear make sure don't loose the stuff as can happen with the tide if you loose they will charge you two times and can get extensive then so be careful place your snorkeling gear at a spot where the waves cant get to 11--- once you walk back after returning the gear they ask for 15000 per adult for shower and 5000 for renting the bathroom bit off a rip we did not use it and took our own towels and were able to get rid off most of the sand and then when you get back to you hotel have a shower or if you are happy to pay the 15000 that's your choice but i also noticed the locals were not charged that price the were charged much lower price . 12--- when i rented the snorkeling gear there was no time limit but i guess it depends if the beach is busy then they might put restrictions on you - also if you can take your own snorkeling gear better as the gear that they give you is not the best and water gets in so not the best experience but it works . pay the parking and that's it drive back . a good day we went with kids they had fun they seen many fish so it was a successful trip many locals will try to sell you everything and try to be your mate remember they are only talking to you as they want your money they are not concerned about your welfare and when you go to the beach you will notice the people who try to sell you the boat trip also bring all people to the same point where you are coming through the beach so its all a rip off scam so just go and do it your self instead of paying them for a boat trip you can also rent life jackets there as well for 25000 local currency which can be negotiated depending on how many you are getting (( when i asked her can yo do a better price she first said no as she said you are a tourist so i have to charge you more you are not a local )) but because i was getting many i was able to get a better price.. have fun a good experience for sure

Blue Lagoon region can be predatory. We took Grab there, and the driver told us that sometimes locals don't allow them to go through because they want to "support the local drivers." However, the local drivers often charge 3 times more than Grab. Entering the region, they charged 5k for the car entrance into their village, which was added to our Grab bill by the driver later. A couple of blocks later, an old man tried to charge 5k per person, saying that what we paid was the car fee and that this was the people's fee. We firmly told them we were not going to pay anything and told the driver to drive away. Getting there, there will be someone charging 2k for scooter parking and 5k for car parking. There is a steep stairway going down to the beach, be aware of that if you have a stroller or mobility issues. The 2 restaurants have snorkeling equipment for rent at 50k, chairs for 25k each, and their prices are cheap (around 45k a plate, 15k for soda). They also have a simple bathroom for customers and offer a shower for 15k. There will be a few people trying to sell you stuff. The beach is beautiful, and even though there are rocks and corals, you can still have a good swim. If you bring your gear, you can easily snorkel on your own, it is very close. What worries me is the proximity of the boats to the swimmers. There is also some trash on the beach and no one seems to care about it. There are cacti growing nearby, so especially in the end of the day you can see pieces of it ashore. I wouldn't take my kids there. If you go, go before 10am when the waves are not strong. I had a pleasant day with my family there taking all precautions, but wouldn't go back.

(Review is more for Padang Bai) BEAUTIFUL scenery, but you can’t walk 10 feet without the locals trying to sell you something / pressure you into their services. I can’t count how many times people yelled “GILLI!?!?” “FASTBOAT!?!” at us… when we literally weren’t there for the ferries at all, but just to see the town itself and snorkel. Although we ended up finding a great snorkeling guide this way (the first one we spoke to who was the only one around because it was a rainy day), who also took us fishing, for a cheaper price…It gets pretty tiresome and uncomfortable. If the locals would just understand that this behavior drives people away instead of attracts them to their business. We would sooner walk up to someone chill and friendly, who isn’t up in our faces. I hope they learn this, it would be better for their business and reviews in the long term 💓🙏 If you need a snorkel or fishing guy - his name is Dek Moleh and his boat name was “Marina”. You’ll find him mid to end of the street along the beach. He and his cute son took us out twice and were very reasonable and accommodating. Can recommend! 👍
