Bloo Lagoon Restaurant truly offers an incredible view. For a restaurant of this level, the scenery is absolutely stunning and definitely one of the highlights of the visit. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The staff members working in the parking area were very friendly and welcoming. They helped us park our car efficiently and greeted us with warm smiles, which immediately gave us a good first impression upon arrival. It really set a positive tone before we even stepped into the restaurant.
However, there were two main issues that unfortunately took away from the overall experience. First, the access road leading to the restaurant is in very poor condition. It was quite bumpy and difficult to navigate, making the journey there less comfortable than it should have been. For a destination that clearly attracts many visitors, I believe improving the road conditions would make a big difference.
The second and more significant issue was the restaurant’s lack of preparation for handling a large number of customers. When the place got crowded, it became very clear that the team was overwhelmed. There was no proper waiting list system in place, and it seemed quite chaotic trying to get a table. Staff members appeared unsure of how to manage the situation efficiently, which led to a lot of confusion and frustration among guests.
For a restaurant that positions itself as a high-end destination with such a beautiful view, better organization and customer service during peak hours are absolutely essential. A proper reservation system, a clear waiting list, and better staff training on managing busy periods would really help improve the overall guest experience.
Overall, while the view and the warm attitude of the parking staff were truly commendable, the poor road access and disorganized service during busy times left us feeling disappointed. With some improvements, Bloo Lagoon Restaurant has the potential to offer not only great views but also a truly memorable...
Read moreFresh, organic and heathy food. Helix 64 is unique to the Padangbai area. They are an eco-friendly restaurant located in the Bloo lagoon. I was blown away by the quality of their food, especially since it’s been hard to find good food out here.
They have an organic garden in which their salads and vegetables are derived from. The drive/walk up the hill is worth it for unbeatable views.
We ate here for almost every meal while we stayed in Padangbai for 5 days, because it was that good. And because most of the restaurants around this area don’t offer excellent dining options.
My favorite was the Bloo salad for 45,000. Add tender juicy chicken for 20,000 rp. Came with diced beets, raisins and watermelon slices over organic greens. Matt got their Bloo burger which came with a juicy, thick patty in a homemade bun and fries on the side. Their hummus and carrots are delicious and simple. Steak and fries/or mashed potatoes was cooked to your liking - we got medium rare and it was heavenly.
Feedback for improvement - Their milkshakes are not made with ice-cream. They are watery, tasted like fluffy, cold milk with bits of ice in it. Fajitas were not served on a sizzling plate. At 10PM when the restaurant closed they turned the lights off on us for a moment to let us know they were closing.
Go for the coconut as a drink. You get a HUGE, whole coconut for 25,000 rp. Comes with a bamboo straw and lime on the side.
Excellent fresh juice selection and pressed juice choices. Whole bottles of wine available, along with champagne and liquor. We paid with cash.
They have a telescope you can use to check out surrounding islands. Their spiral staircase up to the restaurant is fun to walk...
Read moreWe are here today . We reached at 8 45 pm. Ordered a round of drinks and 2 entre. Instead of gin and tonic, we were first served just tonic and then replaced when reminded. Entres were served Without cutlery and then given when again reminded. All this took its own sweet time of about 30 minutes and then after finishing served items fairly quickly at 9 30 pm (we were hungry and thirsty 🤣🤣 after a long boat ride) tried to order main course, desserts and more drinks we were denied main course as apparently per their very rude waiter, last order was 9 20 pm while the restaurant closes at 10 pm. All that is fine but isn't the waiter supposed to tell the patrons the rules beforehand? Or are we supposed to grace the resturant by first memorizing all the rules even if you are from a foreign country looking for a good evening. All this while the waiters cheerily talked with each other apparently enjoying our agony. Thankfully they had a little mercy on us and agreed to serve dessert which we ordered to fill ourselves up even so slightly.
Needless to say our entire Evening was ruined. We remained hungry. This restaurant is a lesson on how to ruin a good restaurant with absolutely...
