Nestled in the enchanting seaside village of Pandangbai, I discovered a culinary gem that left me utterly captivated — a stunning piece of fish that transcends the ordinary. Served in the most amazing warung, this gastronomic delight transported my taste buds to new heights.
The fish, caught fresh from the pristine waters surrounding Pandangbai, was a testament to the region's rich maritime bounty. Grilled to perfection, the smoky aroma wafted through the air, creating an irresistible allure. The exterior boasted a tantalizing char, while the inside revealed tender, flaky flesh that practically melted in my mouth.

The chef, undoubtedly a master of his craft, skillfully combined indigenous spices and herbs, infusing the dish with a symphony of tastes that danced on my palate. Each bite unfolded a delightful journey, a harmonious blend of sweetness, spiciness, and the subtle fragrance of the sea.
Nestled within the vibrant atmosphere of Pandangbai, the warung itself added to the overall charm. With an open-air setting overlooking the azure waters, dining became a sensory celebration, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of the ocean and the gentle sway of palm trees.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this authentic balinese little shop run by the owner, Tupu. The highlight of the experience was watching Tupu personally prepare and cook each whole fish on a charcoal bbq, ensuring that every bite was bursting with flavor.
The freshness of the fish was evident, as they were sourced directly from local fishermen and included a variety of options such as mahi mahi, barracuda, tuna, red snapper, and yellow snapper (depending on the cash of the day).
The fish was perfectly complemented by the delicious sambal sauce, which added just the right amount of spice. The meal also included a portion of rice and a veggie condiment.
Located uphill near the temple, accessing the restaurant is easiest by scooter due to its uphill location. I highly recommend getting out of touristville center to discover this hidden gem of a warung. In fact, I found it to be far superior in terms of taste, quality, and value compared to the popular Warung Bu Jero in the city center.
After my dinner, I sat down with Tupu and his friend around a glass of arak to discuss his dream of opening a bigger shop down in the city center so he can reach more customers. I cross my fingers for him and hope he can make his...

The view is nice, you can see lombok island, and mount agung if the sky is clear.
