TLDR: I was unreasonably charged for a pretty big mistake that the kitchen made (giving beef tacos to a vegetarian). 🙅‍♀️🥩

I’ve worked in the foodservice industry for over a decade and have never experienced such poor customer service. I’m vegetarian and ordered the 3 bean chili tacos (one of the few options on the menu), and after taking a bite immediately tasted that there was beef inside. I asked the server if there was beef in the 3 bean tacos and she said no; I asked again if maybe there’s been a mix-up and she said no; I had my non-veg friends taste the taco and they were pretty sure it tasted beefy so I told the server that it tastes like beef. She went to check with the kitchen and came back to inform me that, yes, they had made a mistake and accidentally gave me the chili con carne tacos. She offered to replace them and remove the semi-eaten tacos and I said sure, but my non-veg friend can eat the beef tacos since they will otherwise go in the trash (as they had already had a couple of bites taken out of them). Now, some staunch non-meat eaters like myself would be pretty upset if they were unknowingly made to eat beef but I was very cool about it and didn’t make a fuss because it’s an honest mistake. Everything up until this point was fine but when I went to pay I noticed they charged me twice for tacos. I couldn’t believe they would charge me for a mistake that was entirely their fault and, to be honest, was a pretty major one. I asked why I was being charged and explained that my friend (who already had eaten another meal) was only eating the beef tacos so they wouldn’t be thrown in the trash. The bartender then intervened and said quite rudely, “it’s simple - your friend is eating them so you have to pay.” I was dumbstruck that they’d charge me, but saw there was no arguing with them, so I paid twice for some really below average tacos. I much prefer to spend my money at establishments that understand what real hospitality means.

One of the few restaurants in Padangbai that I trust to eat at. They use fresh ingredients and their bread is baked each day from a German Baker.

Breakfast served all day! They are open from 7AM - 1AM

Excellent ambiance inside. We sat at a low table with pillows and ordered their watermelon juice (with no sugar,) and their 'Mr. Cheesy' grilled cheese for starters. The grilled cheese had so much flavor to it from the bread. Exceptional.

For dinner, I got their Super Salad, comes in Regular or Large size. The Large was 85,000rp and filled me up completely. I love how it had quinoa, chickpeas, red beans and shredded chicken.

Matt got their chicken parmesan and it was acceptable for Bali, perhaps not for Italy. He said there was too much cheese on it, but the flavor was great. Came with a side of fries.

Total came out to 230,000rp

For breakfast we tried their Double Double - homemade bread with a fried egg, bacon and cheese. Drool worthy. Build-you-own comes with a generous amount of eggs and a big piece of homemade toast & butter. Their sautéed vegetables were nice and garlicy. Bacon crispy and full of flavor.

If you like cold, iced lattes, try their Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. Strong, sweet coffee. Breakfast came out to 180,000 rp.

Very friendly employees, they kept checking to see that we were having a good time.

Food and service were nice but unfortunately they have some fixed clients who live there on this village who are very disturbing. Specially a French diving instructor called Rick who who was very drunk and disturbing clients with very inconvenient actions and comments. (Made even racists comments to us). We complained to the staff who even agreed he is often very inconvenient but "he is a nice guy when not drunk". Knowing that and seeing how drunk this person was you should stop serving tequilas to him and stand by the other people who are being disturbed. So be aware if you are unlucky this guy will be there making troubles and disturbing the ambience. I give 1 star because it doesn't matter if the food and service is good when they don't manage well the vibe. Can you eat well and enjoy yourself in a place when you are being teased...
