Trekked down to this private beach while staying at the Alila Uluwatu. We made two attempts to climb down, as the first time we encountered a pack of hostile monkeys that wouldn't stop following us, and we had to turn back. The climb up was essentially a giant stairmaster, albeit partially shaded.
Once on the beach, your time will be limited, as the beach is only usable during low tide - make sure to Google the appropriate time to go, or ask the hotel staff! We went around 11am. While completely private and secluded, the beach contains a substantial reef, making it un-swimmable. We loved the feeling of having the entire beach to ourselves and took lots of photos, but the usability and accessibility of the beach aren't amazing. Read moreThis beach is pretty private and hidden. Which only amplifies it’s appeal. It’s access point is at the Alila Uluwatu and it’s is a 650 steps straight down. I would say the strain is moderate in getting to and from the beach— however TOTALLY WORTH IT. Make sure if you go you check the tides, you want to go during low tide. Beach completely goes away at high tide.

Read more600 odd steps each way. And prior planning is necessary - check in with the staff to make sure you go down when the tide is low. It's about 10min hike down and 20min hike up - fairly moderate, steps are well laid out mostly and it's sheltered though it was still incredibly hot when we went down at 3pm.
