Savaya is for many even a reason to come to Bali, and for myself it was also what I was looking forward to the most. Unfortunately, in hindsight, I regret going there.
Our hotel was in Canggu, so we had booked transportation in advance. We arrived at the club around 5:50 PM. We went straight to the queue with my friends. The queue moved quickly, and everyone was in a good mood. At the first ticket checkpoint, I was directed to a different attendant who was available more quickly. He checked my ticket, and I tried to catch up with my friends, but their tickets were checked much faster, so I couldn't catch them anymore. I didn't have internet connection, so it was really scary to realize I was now alone.
When I arrived at the second ticket checkpoint, a staff member just asked "ticket" "no ticket". Said "ticket", so he directed me to the VIP line. Waiting in this line took much longer than at the first ticket checkpoint.
As I was walking towards the ticket checkpoint counter, a staff member stopped me and asked, "Which team are you here with?" I told him I didn't know. He directed me to another queue, so I walked back to where the queues diverged. There, the same staff member who had earlier directed me to the VIP line told me again that I should go to the VIP line.
Because the queue had taken so long, I cut in line to quickly ask another staff member what I should do. He didn't listen to me and accused me of cutting in line. I told him that the person at the beginning of the line had told me to come along this queue. He got angry that "blamed his worker." He said I was no longer welcome and was really rude, he really embarrassed me in front of everyone and it became really uncomfortable. I literally showed my guestlist ticket but felt this guy just wanted a fight. The staff were so bad, I would have never imagine such a high end, world renoud club could employ such aggressive, poor and no even, sound customer service employees. I am still shocked how unproffessional these staff were. I was conned into paying when I stated multiple times I'm on guestlist showing my bardcode and I even have videos and photos on my phone showing the time being in savaya and in time frame of guestlist.
I no longer wanted to go to the club; I didn't feel like it anymore. However, I still had to somehow get into the club because we had a shared ride back to the hotel after the evening, and also the internet didn't work in the area and Canggu was a really long way, so I had to find my friends. Staff were aggressive with me, with a rude tone and angry look, he made me pay for the ticket again. So, I ended up paying 110€ for admission, when i repeated a million times im on guestlist!
Inside the club, I looked for my friends for about an hour until I finally found them. Inside, the music was okay, and the atmosphere is of course amazing. It would have been nice to see the sunset, but the sun had already set before I got inside. I want to be remembersed.
I want to share my experience because if you still decide to go to Savaia, be especially careful about your safety, and wait for your friends and stay together...

Booking Issues: Despite a confirmed booking for a VIP section at the cube – for which I paid a significant 18 million IDR – the promise of an uninterrupted view of the club, DJ, and ocean was blatantly disregarded. On arrival, a flimsy excuse of 'bad weather' was given for not honoring my booking, even as the entire area buzzed with people enjoying the sunset. The weather couldn't be more perfect.
Contradictory Staff: The staff's inconsistencies were glaring. From being told we could merely take photos in our paid-for section to being presented with a sub-par alternative, it was clear there was no coordinated or truthful communication. When requesting to be switch to the empty table in front of our, we were told by one staff that it has been booked by another guest, while another staff told us it's the club's owner's table.
Financial Exploitation: When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the audacity to demand an additional 7 million IDR for a table switch was not only shocking but felt like an attempt at blatant financial exploitation.
Management's Apathy: The managerial response was the tipping point. Instead of addressing our genuine concerns, we were met with a dismissive attitude, varied explanations that didn't align, and were ultimately told to either deal with it or we can leave the club.
Final Insult: The biggest slap in the face? The table in front of us that we were told was "unavailable", was handed over to another set of guests who has been sitting behind us.
The way we were treated was unprofessional and unacceptable. The lack of transparency, the inconsistent stories, and the sheer disregard for a paying customer's rightful expectations were shocking. Savaya Bali, your guests deserve honesty, respect, and the services they pay for. I hope no other guest has to experience such blatant dishonesty and disrespect.
When we asked the staff for the manager's name, we were given two different answers: Nora and Victoria. So I guess Savaya is just a team full of dishonest people.
To top it off, we were being offered drugs left and right by patrons within the club. Something we didn't experience at any other places.
p.s. the service staff at our table did...
Read moreAh, Savaya Bali—a venue so highly recommended, the booking process feels less like scheduling a night out and more like negotiating with a double-glazing salesman who just won't take a hint. From the moment you book via WhatsApp, you’re reminded that you’re about to enter the hallowed grounds of "the place to be seen" in Uluwatu, as if this simple fact alone is supposed to justify the experience.
But really, what is all the fuss about? Sure, the location is drop-dead gorgeous, perched on a cliff with views that could make a postcard jealous. The venue is impeccably designed to showcase that breathtaking scenery, and, to be fair, that’s the selling point right there. Savaya is all about serving you the horizon with a side of sunsets.
Now, as for the service—let's just say for a place where you practically need a small mortgage to cover a round of cocktails, you'd expect a level of attentiveness bordering on telepathy. Instead, the service is... fine. It's fine in the way your boss saying, "It's fine" makes you question all your life choices. But it's the clientele that really adds that special flavour. If you're dreaming of rubbing elbows with the crème de la crème, think again. The scene is more "lads on holiday" than "luxurious getaway," with guys parading around shirtless and shorts-clad as if they're crashing a pool party at the local student bar. For these prices, the place should throw in a robe rental—at least then you’d feel like you were paying for something classy.
The sound system, though? Absolutely top-notch. The DJ was superb, delivering tunes that could probably even make that group of shirtless table-loungers feel cool for a minute. So props to the tech crew for making the experience feel like a real party, even if the sushi looked and tasted like it was shipped in from last night’s leftovers and the rest of the food was decidedly... uninspired.
In the end, you're really paying for those stunning views. And while they do indeed deliver that wow factor, it’s basically all you're going to remember. The rest? Well, let’s just say Savaya might be a bit too proud of its reputation—and too willing to charge you for the privilege of realizing...
