For a very long time I dreamt of having my wedding at Sky at Ayana and finally, when my partner proposed, it meant I could turn my dream into reality. I contacted the wedding team at Ayana with so much enthusiasm and excitement, but after 'template' replies and any lack of emotion I felt a little bit deflated. But that was ok, we had the opportunity to look at Ayana in person.
We booked a trip to Bali for 5 days to purely go look at Ayana and told Ayana we were available at any time on those days and would love to have an in-person tour, we received no reply, I chase them up again and a week before we are due to arrive they tell me they are too busy to show us. You can imagine our shock, so after saying we will look at it alone then early one morning, they finally a few days out say they can have someone from the operations side show us. We showed up on the day and everyone seemed suprised, I don't think they had organised anyone, but the gentleman who showed us was fantastic and the venue was just as beautiful as we thought it would be! I put all the past history behind, and we went ahead with a date.
The sales team sent us the contract and give us 5 days to sign. I had a few questions to ask, they took 3 days to answer them. Which was frustrating especially as we were given such a limited time. There were also lots of 'secret' costs in the contract we were unaware of like moving fees per person in case of rain, and even though we were willing to pay a substantial bar tab ($15,000 AUD), we requested a cash bar at the end of the night in case this ran out. They said no, it would be up to us to keep putting money on and it would be too stressful for guests to pay for their own drinks. As we are paying for Ayanas bar prices - $10AUD for a single Bingtang mind and $20AUD for a cocktail, you'd think a cash bar would be possible at such a big resort. Everything seemed difficult and confusing in the contract, but this may have been because I never had a person to talk to about it or help at Ayana.
We decided to not proceed, and we went with another venue, and so far they have been a thousand times easier to deal with. Our money is going a lot further. Ayana's lack of professionalism and communication in the wedding sales team is the reason for this review, and why we chose to spend our money elsewhere. If you want your wedding at Ayana be prepared to be treated...
Read moreWe went to this wedding venue because I was impressed by the scenery in photographs. But no no, don't be glad because you saw those photos, be amazed because you are there seeing all the beauty in REAL.
Breathtaking views of this wedding venue, built on a cliff. I wonder what it would be like to get married at the SKY. Wouldn't it be more than gorgeous?
Visit this place for some gorg photos. And by the way, you would get so much private space for photographs here because why would tourists/guests be visiting a wedding...
