Sunrise Penida Hills — Attraction in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

I saw reviews saying the roads leading up to the hotel are hard to access. I rented a bike myself and rode from the jetty. If you see from google maps it looks like there are some detours, and it’s true there is no direct path that link the jetty to the resort unless you walk by foot. The road are typical village roads, some rocky some muddy during rain, but very manageable if you don’t mind riding slowly and soaking the village vibe on the way. I’m a beginner rider and it’s still manageable for me. One important note is you must use a backpack instead of luggage as I can’t imagine how hard it would be to ride with luggage

Hotel staff at front desk was very helpful, provided me with the charger for phone as I didn’t bring adaptor. And also gave me a poncho on my way back. There is a convenient stall right at the door of this hotel. 7am-11pm, selling most snacks shampoo beer and water so it’s very useful.

During heavy rain the roof will make sounds but it sounds really special like you listening to raindrop ambient music on calm app. Have blackouts during heavy rain but it’s quickly fixed and just part of the village countryside experience so I...

Pleasantly surprised walking into the rooms by the guests that were already staying inside of them. The free loading bugs in each corner, crevice and crack, to the doors that don’t close or don’t stay open, this villa is great. The shower heads black mold gives the water a great fresh taste, and the used toothbrush and toothpaste left on the bench makes it feel homly. The main road is used all hours of the night making sure you don’t have a full sleep, but it’s alright because at 4:30 am you join in with the group prayer, you don’t have much of a choice. This prayer music lasts 20 minutes at a time. With each minute the song getting louder and louder. The pool is a nice green and yellow froth. With strange piles of substances inside it. Stains and spots on almost everything that could have stains. This villa is great, if I hated myself and wanted to sniff the poo smells that linger around the villa....

Terrible experience and did not stay.

Firstly finding the hotel was a challenge. There was no signage and we weren’t even sure we arrived at the right place, once we checked we were, the receptionist did not have our booking, even though it was confirmed over a month in advance.

We had to wait for over an hour to be shown to a room that was not the one we booked, which was disappointing as we had paid extra for the pool view with large bed with glass sliding doors. The room we were shown was small and pokey, no glass doors and no view.

We asked the manager about this and they said the other rooms were fully booked and we could only stay in this room. As they had double booked our room we moved hotels and do not stay. We spoke to the owner who promised she would fully refund the cost, but in proving her number after the initial call she then ignored or...
