Sasono Hinggil Dwi Abad — Attraction in Yogyakarta

Once become one of two Throne Halls (Siti Hinggil), this place once known as The South Throne Hall (Siti Hinggil Kidul), later rebuilt and has been launched during 200th Anniversary of the City Establishment Day in 1956.

This building was originally used for war training for junior soldiers as well as a place for the Sultan to monitor the Grebeg ceremony. Salah satu cagar budaya yang berada sisi utara di Alun-alun Selatan Jogja.Bangunan dengan warna putih masih berdiri megah.Sering di pakai berbagai kegiatan seperti pameran,pengajian,latihan bela diri,tari,pernikahan juga pertunjukan wayang kulit.

Sasana Hinggil berarti tanah yang tinggi di bandingkan alun-alun selatan.Dulunya Sultan sering melihat kegiatan prajurit muda lagi berlatih dari sini.Tapi pada tahun 1956 di bangunan Gedung yang di pakai untuk umum.Dwi Abad merupakan tahun di mana 200 tahun peringatan kraton Jogja.

Sekarang di depan gedung Sasono Dwi Abad sebelah kanan di pakai parkiran motor.Sedangkan sebelah kirinya banyak mobil hias menunggu antrian penumpang.Dari teras gedung kita ke arah selatan kita bisa melihat 2 pohon beringin tepat di tengah alun-alun dan lampu kerlap kerlip mobil hias yang berkeliling saat malam hari.

Kalau musim hujan setidaknya gedung ini bisa buat berteduh.Dan di sisi kanan agak belakang ada toilet dengan bangunan lama.Setidaknya pengunjung tidak perlu kuatir kalau lagi...
