Our visit to Howth Harbour Lighthouse was an unforgettable experience. We were a group of four, including my friend's wife, who was pregnant, and the entire outing turned out to be relaxing and memorable for all of us.
The walk along the pier leading to the lighthouse was simply breathtaking. The fresh sea breeze, the sound of waves crashing against the rocks, and the panoramic view of the coastline created a peaceful atmosphere. Despite my friend's wife being pregnant, the walk was smooth and manageable for her. The path is well-paved and not too long, making it accessible for people of all ages and fitness levels.
The lighthouse itself is charming, standing proudly at the end of the pier. We spent some time soaking in the view — the boats gently bobbing in the harbour and seagulls gliding effortlessly above. The sunset added a magical touch, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink.
We also explored the nearby restaurants and cafés, where we enjoyed some delicious seafood. The locals were warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of the experience.

The lighthouse itself stood proudly against this beautiful backdrop, adding a touch of timeless charm to the scene.
What really made the experience unforgettable was the tranquility of the early morning – with so few people around, it felt like I had the entire place to myself. The only sounds were the soft waves lapping against the rocks and the distant call of seabirds, adding to the peaceful ambiance. As the sun rose higher, the harbor began to slowly come to life, casting reflections across the water that were simply mesmerizing. Very much worth a visit on a sunny day, nothing beats a walk out to the lighthouse and back on the east pier (use the upper level if it's not too windy and your feet are steady, the more even lower level if it's windy or if you've a pram, young children or a wheelchair user).
There's plenty to see and do in the area, including boat trips in the summer, playground, and some good restaurants selling...
