If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My recent visit to this so-called "restaurant" was nothing short of a nightmare. Myself and two friends were seated at the bar, and two of us ordered food. My other friend wasn't hungry, so she decided not to order anything. Instead of respecting her choice, the waitress rudely questioned why she wasn't ordering, then had the audacity to make a snide remark: "This is a restaurant, girls," before walking away like she was doing us a favor by even acknowledging our existence.
When I politely (yes, more polite than she deserved) expressed that her comment was uncalled for and that my friend shouldn't be forced to order if she wasn't hungry, the waitress doubled down on her rudeness. She arrogantly claimed she had people "queuing outside" (a blatant lie—there was no one waiting) and continued to make us feel incredibly unwelcome.
As if that wasn't enough, when I motioned to another waitress to cancel our order because we were being treated so poorly, the first waitress rudely confronted us yet again. She snapped that my friend could "speak for herself" and stated that "we need to understand how a restaurant works," as if we were the ones who didn’t understand basic decency.
We walked out immediately, and I will never step foot in this deplorable establishment again. I've traveled the world and dined at countless restaurants, but I have never encountered such disgusting behavior from staff. Save your money and go somewhere—anywhere—else. This place is a disgrace to the...

I had the pleasure of visiting Brass Monkey restaurant for a regular lunch date on Saturday, April 6th. The experience was delightful, starting with a warm welcome from the attentive staff. As I settled in, I ordered a variety of dishes, including calamari, vegetable tacos, and grilled salmon, accompanied by a glass of wine.
Among the dishes, the calamari stood out as my favorite. It was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and tender interior, offering a burst of flavor with every bite. The vegetable tacos were also enjoyable, adding a fresh and vibrant element to the meal.
While the grilled salmon was tasty, I found the skin to be slightly lacking in crispiness. Nonetheless, the overall taste and presentation were commendable.
What truly elevated my experience was the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant and the exceptional care provided by the waitress. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor enhanced the dining experience, making me feel welcomed and valued as a guest.
Overall, my visit to Brass Monkey was a memorable one, thanks to the delicious food, cozy ambiance, and outstanding service. I look forward to returning to savor more of their culinary delights...
Read moreWe have been going here for a number of years, purely for their Deluxe Chowder! I can safely say we are connoisseurs of a bowl of Chowder at this stage! We try it in any true seafood establishment! But always go back to The Brass Monkey! Pre covid, never once had a complaint. They offered two types of Chowder. One regular for €9.00 and then their Deluxe for €11.00, which had added, 2 crab claws, 2 prawns, 2 scallops. ( I hope I am not mistaken on these prices, quite sure I am not). However, we dropped in the other day. Unfortunately, when we ordered our Chowder, it just didn't taste as good as it used to! It was still nice, but definitely not as good as old. And the real shock and disappointment to us was!! get ready for this one!! It had gone up in price by €9.00. Not one or two or 5 or 6! No! 9. €9.00 extra for their deluxe bowl! And I actually think it was a smaller portion than they used to serve😒. I know everything has shot up in price over the last year or so and we all play our part in supporting businesses to reach their inflated costs. But really guys, €9.00 extra, so €20.00 for a bowl of soup. This is just extortionate in my opinion. I will definitely be in search of another, less...
