I went there with my husband. It was a Sunday evening. We hadnt booked but got a seat as the place was practically empty. I mentioned that to staff and they said it was busy earlier. There was only a family of 4 in there when we were there. The place is cosy, clean and the decor is nice. Music was good. The menu I felt was overpriced. I understand it was an evening meal but starters were €15 which we decided not to have. We had for mains the 10oz rib eye for €44. This came with homemade fries and rocket and parmasen cheese. We asked for the steak to be medium. It was cook lovely. However, there was a lot of fat in the rib eye. You has to be very carefull to cut the fat off before putting it into your mouth as otherwise you could not eat. My husband had to leave almost half of his. Usually i do not go for steak when i eat out for this reason but i decided on this occasion that if they were charging €44 for each steak it would be good quality. When we mentioned it to staff all they said was ohh very sorry to hear that. No offer of a tea or coffee to help make up for it. They did however deduct €8 from the bill which was good but didnt say anymore to us or even let us know that they took money off. We did take a look at the dessert menu but there wasnt much choice. There were approx €9 each. I had a glass of Shiriz with my meal which was €10.50. What would have been nice to offer me a glass of wine saying that i know it doesnt help the fact the steak was fatty but as a gesture of goodwill it would have been nice. Perhaps the staff were not experienced enough to deal with the complaint. I took a look at the lunch menu which was on the outside menu to look at the options for lunch but was shocked to see the same options and even more the same prices! I think €44 for a steak lunch is very overpriced. I go out to Howth a lot and eat out a lot. I think its a terrible shame that The Pier House let us down on this occassion. My husband has said he wouldnt go there again. Personally, I dont think I would either. First...

Pretty Woman Moment. I arrived to The Pier House this evening after my bleach blonde hair was a little wind swept but was dressed nicely. I had my face mask on & asked the waiter at the door had he any seats for dining outside and he replied "No and it's very warm inside" I replied that's no problem we will take a seat for two inside, to this he replied "have you looked at the menue"? . I felt as if I was in the Pretty Woman movie where the sales assistant told ,Julie Roberts "the dress wouldn't fit her & she recommend another shop around the corner. I was actually waiting for him to come up with another excuse to try and desuade me from entering his establishment, however he obviously couldn't think of any other reasons for not permitting me entry. Oysters were very succulent and the Prawn Tempura was very tasty and generous portion. John Durey Fish was over cooked and served very greasy. The sriplion steak was nicely peppered. Obviously the Cead Mile Failte above the waiters head especially in a time where the hospitality sector are constantly moaning about their sales being down due to the pandemic. This evening was nothing to do with a pandemic just pure snobbery. I won't be back or recommend...

Not to be missed ! This restaurant definitely stands out from the rest on the West Pier with the superb quality & beautiful presentation of their food , friendliness of their staff & a uniquely elegant aesthetic. My boyfriend and I went for Dinner here and we had the most amazing experience from start to finish, The service was top notch and the staff were all really friendly. We got an array of starters and loved all of them , especially the pork belly and the shrimp tempura, the batter was light so you could still taste the shrimp, we For our main dishes we got the Roast cod and monkfish with potatoes in garlic butter and seared greens with a Cesar dressing and cashew nut crumb on top which were both presented beautifully and they tasted exceptional. We didn’t think we’d have room for dessert but we managed together to eat the milk chocolate delice which was divine and the mascarpone ice cream that came with it was unreal! Cocktails tasted amazing and were all gorgeously garnished too. We’ll definitely be back to this restaurant soon! And recommend to friends :) One of the best dining experiences we’ve...

Everything was excellent - oysters, yellow fin tuna, monkfish: all excellent. I've been before, but something must have changed in the kitchen. This place has gone from good to excellent. The service was the icing on the cake. It wasn't just well paced, Zach & Dani were also really charming and incredibly thoughtful. I half jokingly asked about calories, and Zach circled back to the kitchen to get a rough guesstimate from the chef. We were also offered a complimentary drink at the end, with one brought out with him having noted I wasn't drinking and asking before we even noticed the gesture if I wanted one too or if I was on the dry. Service in Dublin is pretty good, and the past 15 years have seen restaurant quality steadily improve. But this is a stand-out example of an established place going from good to great and hiring extremely well.

The family and I stopped in on a VERY busy Wednesday afternoon towards the end of the lunch rush. Limited outdoor seating on this day, but only because the weather was soon nice! Inside was very cozy and quiet. The fish dishes are so fresh and we didn’t wait long for food to arrive at all! Highly recommend the seafood chowder that is a medley of shellfish and cuts of trout and shrimp. The monkfish tacos were a unique flavor! Finished off with Irish coffees to keep us merry and caffeinated for the rest of the afternoon touring the beach and market area. Service was fantastic! The staff were excellent hosts, friendly, and personable. Zach (our waiter) served us a sample of honeycomb liqueur as a parting blessing for the afternoon. Come here for a lovely meal. You will not be disappointed.

When I tell you this place is one of the best restaurants I've been to, it's not an overstatement. The atmosphere was incredible. I came by myself, usually people in the service industry would scoff at people coming in on their own but the waiters were so nice! ...also I didn't realise they closed early on Sundays but when I came in at their closing time, they didn't tell me to leave at all! They sat me down and were very welcoming. I ordered the seabass and it felt like such a comfort food. The blondie was literally the best thing I've tasted, it was so small though :( I wish there was more of it!! Definitely will be back again. Thanks guys :)
