We (two families of four) took a boat trip with Anne-Marie in Kilikenny last week, it was fantastic! The jetty is super easy to find, located at the bridge right beside Kilkenny Castle (as shown on Google Maps). We weren't sure if the weather would hold up but need not have worried as Anne-Marie had a bunch of umbrellas at the ready in the boat if the showers came!! We saw plenty of wildlife during the trip and Anne-Marie gave lots of info on these, the river itself and some of the history of the sights along the river banks. The children all enjoyed a turn steering the boat! This is a really nice way to see some of Kilkenny from a different view point and is suitable for all ages. The jetty makes getting on and off the boat really easy. The life jackets supplied are very comfortable and they have numerous sizes available for children of different ages.

We had a fabulous trip today! Elder, our guide was fantastic, both charming and knowledgeable. We’re sadly only passing through Kilkenny but it was great to learn about the city history and it was a beautiful boat ride. We saw a glimpse of an otter & the bubble trail as it swam away which was a highlight as well as three swans and a bus load of ducks. He also encouraged us to each try directing the boat which was a lot of fun. It’s a pretty reasonable price considering it’s almost an hour and small groupings at a time (plus accounting for gas and boat upkeep). An extra kind and thoughtful moment was at the end of the tour was when my mother mentioned she has a boat at our cottage we haven’t used yet so spent a few minutes teaching us about the engine and the gears. Many thanks Elder!

The girls and I planned a day trip to Kilkenny to enjoy some time together over the long weekend. We joined Cliff on a boat trip and had an absolute blast. The tour was brilliant. The location couldn't have been better. We made our booking easily online through the website. The choice of times was great to fit into our schedule. Cliff and Annemarie are excellent hosts and made us all feel so comfortable. The tour is tailored to your needs if you want to learn about local recommendations, history, folklore or just a chat. We took a few photos along the way that will remind us of our wonderful day out with boat trips.ie. 10/10 il definitely be returning with all my family next time!

First time to view Kilkenny castle from the waters on a nice boat trip that we booked in advance, Annemarie was the skipper and Cliff was on the phone to help us out with any queries when we rang to ask were the boats running on the day as it said closes at 3pm but Google hadn't been updated and they in fact run from 10pm to 5pm daily, the journey is approx 45 minutes up the river to view some interesting places, buildings and bridges along the way and turn around to view the stunning Kilkenny castle. There are life jackets provided, a nice tour overall and my son got to be skipper for a short while. €15 per adult and €10 per child. A great day had

We took a trip with Annmarie this morning & I have to say we all thoroughly enjoyed it. They only take max 6 in covid or 1 group so it was just the three of us on the boat. It’s only 30/40 minutes long. My 11 year old son said he didn’t think he'd enjoy it but it was cool. Annmarie talked about Kilkenny history a bit but more about the nature & wildlife around river, otters & mink, Herron etc. She also allowed our son to steer the boat, he was thrilled. I’m currently unwell so get tired very easily but this was a fantastic relaxing family activity, with a great tour guide we would recommend it.

The whole trip was wonderful. All the staff we dealt with were lovely. Our trip captain was Elder from Portugal, a very funny and kind person. Our son has cerebral palsy and he went above and beyond what we expected to let us have a wonderful experience,Elder even getting a bucket of water from the river for our son,Richard, to put his hands in and giving our daughter, Isabelle, a little fishing net to catch some fish. The views and the trip are beautiful and relaxing and the whole experience was lovely,a real highlight of our trip to Kilkenny. Thank you
