Read moreBlind and Deaf servers! Or perhaps I should say rather picky - on choosing whom to serve! Only place in town where I could have watched the Autumn Internationals on Amazon Prime. Sat at the back bar out of courtesy to watch All Blacks v Wales in peace. Got my first drink at the front bar and waited for eternity to be asked if I wanted another one. Was told there was no service at the bar I was sitting at, which was noticeable that no one was being served there. However, tables all around got their food and drinks brought to them whilst I could hardly get someone to notice I was there too! It isn't enjoyable to be running off to the bar to get your own drink in the middle of a much looked-forward-to match and particularly when everyone else is being served at their tables. Patience did wear thin, especially after attempts to raise the point to a senior staff and the response bring unbelievable. I was told I was being barred. No way to treat a guest or an All Black fan.
It is highly unlikely you will fault yourselves. I was aware service was unavailable at the bar I sat at. However, tables all around me were being served from the bars that were serving and so I tried multiple times to flag down one of your servers who came within feet of me and not seem to take notice. When at long last I spoke to the first person, I let her know what I had experienced and there was no shouting involved, her claims are exaggerated. At that point, I had decided not to stay a moment longer in a place where I was completely ignored as a customer, on my way out I let your manager know what I thought of the service. His claims of shouting are amplified as well. I am also not a dummy and will not tolerate being treated like one. If there was anybody who was obnoxious, they would be members of your staff and it will be my great pleasure never to set foot on your premises again, I will miss nothing. To all fans of the ABs, this place is not worth your time and your money....
Read moreI really hate leaving negative-ish reviews but this has to be done it was our wedding anniversary the weekend and said we would try here for food.
ive been here before and the food as far as I could recall was decent
had the usual "30 minutes" to wait but it was much longer unfortunately. we didnt feel it however with the great Guinness and atmosphere in the bar area.
my wife ordered nachos.
the nacho chips them selves were not salted - tasted like dry pieces of cardboard, and the chilli was sweet ? like overly sweet. Chilli is not supposed to be sweat I dont care what anyone says.
avocado that was on there , I assume was supposed to be some kind of guac but it was literally plain avocado . All in all Id give her dish a solid 2 out of 10. presentation was even lacklustre.
I had a fried chicken dish. that was supposed to come with 2 "sides"
side 1 : corn on the cob. literally slapped onto the plate , no butter or salt and pepper on the corn to give it some kind of appeal
side 2 : was a a potato rostie type thing. if anyone is looking for oil to heat the house for the winter order a few of these there was enough oil on it to heat a small town
desert was a disaster.
My wife had an orange sponge cake. I literally dont know what kind of syrup they added to it but it was so orangey it was unpleasant. it was like they had taken a bottle of orange extract and literally saturated the sponge with it . 3/10
I ordered a fried ice cream pancake type thing .
I had envisaged a hot pancake with half melted Ice cream inside but what I got was a cold pancake swimming in liquid remains of ice cream (and it seemed really oily?)
Guiness 9.5 / 10 double espresso - 10/10 would put hair on the palm of your hand. whiskey sours - 10/10 staff 10/10 food id be reluctant to give over 3/10
I wont be returning to Paris Texas again im sorry to say . As vibrant and enjoyable of a...
