A Tranquil Oasis.

A truly enchanting experience! The Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens are a masterpiece of horticultural artistry and cultural immersion. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a world of serenity and beauty. The gardens are meticulously designed, with each section telling a unique story of Hearn's life and travels. The blend of Japanese aesthetics with Irish charm is simply breathtaking. The attention to detail is impeccable, from the delicate plant life to the authentic Japanese structures. I particularly enjoyed the peaceful ambiance of the tea garden and the invigorating energy of the waterfall. It's a place where you can truly relax and connect with nature. Whether you're a gardening enthusiast, a culture buff, or simply seeking a tranquil escape, this garden is a must-visit. Highly...

One of the most wonderful formal garden I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment you walk through the arched gateway a sense of serenity passes over you. The sheer beauty of the plants, flowers and trees is quite breathtaking. The various walkways take you through an almost Alice in Wonderland journey through a perfect replica slice of feudal Japan. From the ornate karesansui Zen garden to the traditionally built Summer House pagoda, you are in constant wonder of what awaits you around the next bend. Make sure you take your time to explore every nook and cranny of the gardens and to read the various information plaques that explain the origins of the gardens designs and the truly inspiring life of Lafcadio Hearn. This place is an absolute must visit if you are...

Terrible wedding location, unfriendly staff that don't address any problems, everything we asked for and discussed before the day was not catered for, lack of communication, they don't even close the gardens for your ceremony, be warned you will have people all around your area on your special day making noise while the ceremony takes place. Overpriced for what you get. Any couples looking to have their day spoilt like ours was, then stay well away from this terrible so called 5 star wedding venue. 0 star. Owner will not address my complaints and hasn't emailed back in 3 months. It's excuse after excuse with this organisation. Paid to get married in the gardens, and got married outside the coffee shop....

Absolutely enchanting, peaceful, a gem in the heart of Tramore. All the more interesting to learn that this garden is the brainchild of one special woman, Agnes Aylward. Her work here reminds me of the work of Rowena Cade at The Minack theatre at Porthcurno, Cornwall, England. From the waterfalls to the lily pad ponds to the immaculately raked paths this oasis is a credit to all involved, especially the volunteers. The area is available to hire for family functions and is the perfect setting for intimate family celebrations. We sampled the flavourful coffee and the beautiful lemon drizzle cake during our visit. Put this on your must visit list next time you are anywhere near Tramore. Therese and John.
