Great museum to visit with gan and primary age kids. The three-year-old didn't get as much out of it, but wasn't generally bored either. Even on Yom Ha'atzmaut with heavily reduced ticket prices it didn't feel too crowded. It was definitely busy, but the staffing and activities were well planned so there was always space to do something interesting.
The current exhibits and activities around building with cardboard (22 March to 14 June 2018) are very creative, with lots of scope for the imagination while getting to know the properties of the medium. We aren't planning to go again during this exhibit, but by the time the next one comes around I'm sure the kids will be happy to have another go at the permanent more general science activities. These tend towards mechanical physics, optics, mirrors and so on.
Unfortunately my kids weren't that interested in the exhibits on the history of bicycles or coding and computers, and the greenhouse was closed, but they were also well done and expansive.
My one real complaint is that there's only a baby changing space in the women's toilets, and not...
ย ย ย Read moreNice science museum in Jerusalem. Not very big but has some special stuff. Most noticable at the entrance is a gigantic Granite ball that is sits on a water-bearing so that you can turn it despite that it weighs a few times tons. It is amazing you can see kids turning it around, it takes a few of them since it has a large inertia but eventually it moves. Inside the museum there also interesting exhibits. If you are interested we should definitely see this Museum. This museum is part of the world wide joint science museum joint ASTC program so you can enter for free if you are a member of any other ASTC Museum. Getting a Family membership can pay off in even one visit if you have a lot of children (some museums limited to 2, others 5). Definitely worth visiting this museum if you like...
ย ย ย Read moreWe are visiting Jerusalem from Australia and went to the Museum with our 3 kids (2, 4 & 6) and found it quite nice. There's several levels to explore, an outside area (which was too cold for us) and a cafeteria. They had a half an hour experimental show on, obviously in Hebrew, but we didn't mind and watched it anyway. Everything else was pretty much available to read in English, Hebrew and Arabic. We have a similar science/technology museum at home, so compared to that it wasn't as good in my opinion, just because most things are targeted more for older kids. My little ones loved the Teddy bear hospital though and think it's a pretty clever idea. All in all I definitely recommend the Museum, we had a enjoyable few hours in there and learnt some new...
