Modern — Restaurant in Jerusalem

I’ve never experienced anything like this. We came in and asked about dietary restrictions, as we don’t eat gluten or sugar. We asked for a substitute for the grains, and he said they couldn’t do anything except for the same side salad that comes as a first course. Then, we received the salad with candied walnuts, the main courses with the grain even though we asked for it without, the salad with a sweet dressing. We spoke to the manager (Jude Anshin) about it and she was yelling at us, being so rude and abrasive, I’ve never experienced anything like this. Food was fine but service was so bad that I would advice DO NOT COME especially with dietary restrictions. If it was an allergy it would’ve been dangerous. I’ve never been spoken to so rudely. Not good. The lunch menu was very limited. The Jerusalem Sabich burger was a total disappointment. A chunk of eggplant with some awful sauce on top of a meat burger on a bun, and the bun was tasteless! Served with cold fries, yuk! What an embarrassment for The Israel Museum! The decor was very odd, flimsy sea lanterns filled with wine bottle corks, really!? Very cheap and very last century, reminded me of a roadside shack in Cape Cod. Where is the Israeli design? No Israeli art on the walls? Why? Where are the famous Israeli chefs? The food should showcase Jewish cooking through the ages; instead they serve schnitzel as if their only guests are children who only eat McDonald's chicken fingers!? A restaurant at THE Israel Museum should be a destination on its own, instead its a place to be...

This was an absolute disaster of a meal, especially for 97 NIS! The portion was a joke—barely any meat—and what little there was sat on a burnt, inedible mess at the bottom of the bowl. To add insult to injury, the food wasn’t even fresh and was served cold. Cold, burnt, and overpriced—how does that even happen?

This is completely unacceptable. For the price I paid, I expected at least decent food, not something that looks and tastes like leftovers scraped from a pan. I won’t be coming back, and I’ll be warning others to steer clear until this place figures out how to serve food that’s...
