The Pater Noster Church is a significant religious site located on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. It is believed to be the site where Jesus Christ taught his disciples the Lord's Prayer, also known as the Pater Noster in Latin, hence the name of the church.

The current structure of the church was built in the 19th century by French architect, Antonio Barluzzi, and is adorned with beautiful mosaics depicting the Lord's Prayer in various languages. The church also contains a small cave believed to be the spot where Jesus taught his disciples.

Throughout history, the Pater Noster Church has undergone several renovations and changes in ownership. In the 4th century, a small church was built on the site, which was later destroyed by the Persians in the 7th century. The church was rebuilt by the Crusaders in the 12th century and was later destroyed again by the Muslim conqueror Saladin in the 13th century. The church remained in ruins until it was rebuilt in the 19th century.

Today, the Pater Noster Church is a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims visiting Jerusalem. Its stunning architecture and rich history make it a must-see attraction for anyone interested in religious sites and...

A wonderful Church to visit on the East side of Jerusalem (located on Mt. Of Olives) and view the translation of the Lord's Prayer into more than 140 different languages that are inscribed on colorful ceramic plaques.

Matthew 6:9:10 (Our Father Prayer) - Jesus taught his disciples on how to pray to God's Kingdom.

As I spent more than 02 hours walking around the Church so that I could take pictures of all 140+ colorful plaques ... So, it doesn't matter where you're viewing these photos from around the World ... I hope that you can be able to find one in "your own" language ...

May you'll find this heartfelt "Our Father Prayer" useful and I hope that it will comfort you and your love ones in your everyday life, as well as in times of sickness and trials. May the peace of the Lord be with you...

Biserica Tatal Nostru, precum este cunoscuta in toata lumea, este o biserica crestina din apropierea Ierusalimului, fiind aflata pe Muntele Maslinilor, mai inspre nord de Mormintele Profetilor si de celelalte locuri sfinte din apropierea Gradinii Ghetsimani...potrivit traditiilor crestine locale, in pestera pastrata si astazi in incinta, ucenicii s-au adunat in jurul Mantuitorului, spre a-i invata rugaciunea domneasca "Tatal nostru"...rugaciunea aceasta, numita si "domneasca", dupa calitatea de Domn a Celui care a rostit-o intaia oara, este una dintre cele mai puternice rugaciuni crestine...ansamblul eclesial Tatal Nostru, numit si "Pater Noster", este ridicat pe ruinele unei vechi basilici bizantine, construita de Sfantul imparat Constantin cel Mare....Basilica bizantina, numita "Eleona", adica "a Maslinilor", dateaza deci inca din secolul al IV-lea, ea fiind zidita chiar deasupra pesterii marturisite de traditia mai-sus amintita....actuala biserica, avand statut de manastire, se afla in purtarea de grija a surorilor carmelite, apartinatoare de Biserica Romano-Catolica...în curtea manastirii, pe toti peretii laterali ai curtii, cat si in interiorul bisericii celei mari, se afla placi de ceramica alba inscriptionate cu rugaciunea "Tatal nostru", in mai bine de...

This place took time when we visited in a group of 50 in November 2022, because there were several other large groups waiting too. We went inside the cave to see the Rock, said to be where Jesus sat and taught the Lord's Prayer. We just had a few minutes to quickly see some of the 177 translations of the prayer, displayed all around the compound.
