The Garden Tomb is a significant site for Christians, located just outside the walls of Jerusalem's Old City. It is believed by many to be the burialplace of Jesus Christ. As someone who visited the Garden Tomb, I can attest to its spiritual significance for people of faith and unbelievers alike.

Upon arrival, the Garden Tomb's lush greenery and beautiful flowers provide a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Theplace of Jesus Christ, making it a highly revered place for pilgrims and tourists alike.

When I visited the Garden Tomb, I was struck first by its peaceful and serene atmosphere. The tomb is set within a beautiful garden, which provides a lovely and calming backdrop for those who come to visit. The site itself is simple and unassuming, without the grandeur of some other religious sites. However, this simplicity only adds to the sense of reverence and humility that is palpable here.

As I walked through the garden towards the tomb, I felt a sense of reverence and awe come over me. The tomb itself is a small stone structure, with a low entrance and a deep interior chamber. It is the simplicity of this tomb that adds to its significance, as it is believed to be a reflection of the simple burial practices of the time of Jesus' death.

One of the most moving parts of my visit to the Garden Tomb was the time I spent in the chapel area. This space provides a quiet and reflective area for visitors to sit and pray, and is often the site of small services and group worship. The chapel area also offers stunning views over the surrounding area, including of the nearby Mount of Olives.

Throughout my visit to the Garden Tomb, I felt a deep sense of reverence and respect for the site's significance. The peaceful and simple atmosphere, coupled with the beautiful garden setting, make it a truly special place. For those who are seeking a meaningful and thought-provoking religious experience in Jerusalem, I highly recommend a visit to the Garden Tomb........

The Garden Tomb is a beautiful garden and place for prayer run by The Garden Tomb Association, a British ministry that trains volunteers to share the Gospel with Holy Land visitors. It features a tomb that offers a much closer example of a garden tomb than the one found in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which has been overlaid with precious metals and decorated with religious items. In 1842, Otto Thenius, a German scholar, first suggested the Garden Tomb location as the site of Christ's burial because he believed the skull-like appearance of the nearby hill identified it as Golgotha. Golgotha is the name of the place where Jesus was crucified, which literally translates "place of the skull" (John 19:17). The nearby tomb was discovered in 1867. In 1883 the Garden Tomb as the actual location of Jesus' tomb garnered attention because British Major-General Charles Gordon claimed a dream assisted him to identify it as the place of Jesus' crucifixion.

The Bible does not indicate the exact location of Golgotha or the tomb. The gospels tell us Jesus was crucified outside the city walls on a well-travelled road that allowed people passing by to mock him. His body was placed in a new rock-hewn tomb in a nearby garden. Today, the Garden Tomb site is outside the walls of the Old City and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is found inside the current walls of Jerusalem. However, the site of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was located outside the city walls at the time of Jesus crucifixion, a fact that was not known to Thenius or Gordon. Setting aside the questions of authenticity, it is a beautiful place in Jerusalem to consider the reality that "He is not here for...

About Ron Wyatt

Garden Tomb needs to welcome people looking for information about the crucifixion site discovered by Ron Wyatt in the 1980s. While Garden Tomb does not recognize the site as being authentic, it must remain neutral and inform people where Ron Wyatt did it. the excavations (the actual location, on the deck, see photos). Just as the Garden is not sure if this is the tomb of Jesus, but they still show people the tomb, I also ask you to show the place where Ron Wyatt excavated it! Especially J.B. who unfortunately has created false news about Ron Wyatt and has asked "favors" for less informed people to propagate these rumors on the internet, such as that "Ron Wyatt died in an insane hospital in America", which is not true, because he died in a regular hospital being treated for bowel cancer. Last year (2021) created another fake news saying that they dug a 16 meter deep excavation at the site where Ron Wyatt excavated and did not find the ark of the covenant that Ron said was under the crucifixion site. However, there is no recent excavation at this site (on the deck, see photos), but where there was a raised platform near the bus station, where they renovated it. You call yourself Christians, so you shouldn't lie to people! Unless they are afraid that the truth about the ark of the covenant will come out. But they shouldn't, but give glory to God for having...
