In this holy place, the enormity of what Our Savior suffered for us came upon my heart. I am sure each of us who came there as pilgrims had their own private thoughts, prayers, offerings and connections. I was a pilgrim to the Holy Land, and to walk the Via Dolorosa where He walked 2,000 years ago was more than I can describe. This Church was one place of many that meant so much to me - historically, culturally, religiously, personally. I kept thinking how could they be so cruel to inflict so much pain on people in such horrible ways, especially on the innocent. So much to imagine and take in when thinking of what our Savior went through for us. The High Priest and the Romans each had their part in what this sacred place reminds us happened there. To think of how a person was only whipped a person 39 times because it was considered the most they could do without killing the person. Then to condemn a person to crucifixion, another cruel way to humiliate and totally demoralize a person. Lord, this was all so horrible. Reverence and soul-searching...

THE WAY OF THE CROSS - THE CHURCHES OF FLAGELLATION AND CONDEMNATION – OLD CITY - JERUSALEM - കുരിശിന്റെ വഴി : The Church of Flagellation enshrines the spot where Jesus was flogged (beaten with whip) by Roman soldiers before he was lead to Calvary for crucifixion – In the same compound, barely 15 meters away, stands the Church of the Condemnation – This is the spot where Jesus was condemned to death and he took up the cross to begin his walk to Golgotha –These are the first two stations on the way to Cross (Via Dolorosa) – Though believed by most as the original sites, there is difference of opinion about the actual places amongst...

The Church of the Condemnation in Jerusalem is a solemn and evocative place that invites reflection on the final moments of Jesus' life. Its striking architecture and sacred atmosphere create a somber ambiance. The church marks the site where Jesus was condemned by Pontius Pilate. Walking through its halls, one can't help but feel a deep connection to the historical events that unfolded there. The church's religious significance and historical importance make it a must-visit for those seeking to delve into the profound story of Christ's...

Pontius Pilate palace and the place where Jesus was condemned & flogged. A historical place with real meaning if you are a follower of Christ. Beautifully looked after and plenty of information and as most historical landmarks in Jerusalem, free to enter.
