It’s a unique tour that takes you through the white city of Tel Aviv and a series of (mostly residential) buildings of international style in the 30s.
We took the self guided tour with an audio guide with 100+ shekels (forgot the exact price). The self guided tour has a regular version and an extended version with one more stop (a small communal garden). They also have human guided tours on Friday and Sunday. The tour is supposed to be 1.5hr (regular) or 2 hr (extended), but you can pace it yourself to be faster.
Overall the tour is interesting. It starts with a very informative 20+ minutes video covering the history of Bauhaus architectural style. Read moreGood Place to Learn about Bauhaus Architecture. We took the Classic Bauhaus tour. The movie was very informative and our guide was also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject. On the down side was that the guide's microphone made a lot of loud static/clicking noises as we walked and the headsets only worked so-so so we missed some of the stories. The other disappointment was that we were not given a map, as promised by the website. We asked for it at the end of the tour and were told in a very abrupt manner that there were no maps except one that we had to buy for 25 shekels and that there was not even a map that we could take a picture of; that encounter left a bad impression of what was otherwise a good tour. It's also a bit pricey, but then again this is Tel Aviv. I would still recommend it to...
Read moreWhat a great place.
Built in the 1970's. Still modern. Must have been amazing when it first opened.
Fresh airy spaces with curves and a maze of little interesting shops and boutiques.
Coffee shops to eat in on every floor. Book shops, clothes, tattoo parlour, electronic HiFi and ordinary electric home appliances. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cosmetics and mobile phones.
On the lowest floor is a large sand pit and children play area surrounded by 2 easy coffee shops.
We are in Greg coffee shop where dogs are also welcome.
Amazing shopping mall unlike any other I have been to. Starting to show it's are but well worth a visit.
Allow enough time to explore. I was told that all the plants on the balconies are hydroponic and that the grow vegetables to eat on the roof along with a...
