Bialik Square — Attraction in Tel-Aviv

This is not just a charming square—it’s where Tel Aviv officially became Tel Aviv. In 1925, the City Hall moved here, and it was on this small rise, known as Betzalel Hill, that the then 16-year-old city gained the status of a Township under the British Mandate.

That same year, H.N. Bialik, Israel’s national poet, moved from Ukraine and built his iconic house here, planting the seeds for what would become the cultural heart of the Hebrew city.

For nearly 40 years, Bialik Square was the place to be. City politics, art, literature, and national identity all intersected here. Anyone who was anyone walked through this square at some point. Back then, it stood on the edge of the dunes, near Trumpeldor Cemetery, overlooking a growing city.

When the City Hall moved to what is now Rabin Square, the area entered a period of slow decline through the ’60s and ’70s—but it came back to life in the early 2000s and has since been lovingly restored. Today, it's a quiet gem, filled with stories.

Interesting. I would tour Tel Aviv with a guide though. They can really tell you about the Architecture. For example, the National poet of Israel had his house built in the Eclectic style. You can see the oriental influence in the wooden window, in the arches and paintings in the house and more. Interestingly, the paintings inside were made by Bezalel students of the early 20tb century! It is still a school of art, established in 1906, so really impressive. A house across the street from it has a private museum of the international style of architecture, mostly known for its Bauhouse school from Germany. In Israel, it was a style widely spread over the 1930'-1940', for various reasons. The house in the center of the square was used in the past for the municipality. Today there is a museum there. *No bathroom available...

כיכר ביאליק נקראת על שם הסופר הלאומי חיים נחמן ביאליק כיכר יפיפיה ציורית מוקפת במיבנים ויקטורינים כלות לא מפספסות ומצולמות כאן ביום חתונתן ,סרטים נעשו כאן כולל להוליווד קליפים,אירועים עם שגררים ועוד התיריים לא פוסחים על האזור ביאליק רחוב מאוד יקר(רן לנדאו,ועוד מעושרים ) שושלת האדמורים בעלי הניסים מהוסיאטין ובית הכנסת שלהם מס 19 עם מוטיבים מיוחדים של ציורי קיר שחשפנו נרות פלוס ההילה שלהם וריצוף מעוטר באשכולות ענבים ועוד .. ידוענים רבים היו נפגשים במיזרקה שחקנים סופרים אנשי רוח הרחוב המגביל משה הס היה רחוב הרופאים פרופסורים אזור עשיר בהוד הדר ורוח ביבי נראה מתארח באחד הבנינים ועוד ... השכנים היו נפגשים כאן להנות מצליל המזרקה ציוץ ציפורים מבנה צמוד גן נעמת ,ומרכז מוזיקה,והיה היידיש פיל המזרקה של גוטמן נלקחה מבלי לשאול התושבים עדיין זועמים את המזרקה גוטמן תרם לכיכר ביאליק מחווה לחיים נחמן ביאליק שהייה תלמידו .. בבית העיריה היה מוזיאון שעוה מדהים משנות ה70 וילדי השכונה היו נכנסים חופשי (גם אני) ומכירים בגודל מקורי את גדולי האומה והעולם גדלי התרבות ..ראש העיר הראשון של ת"א מאיר דיזינגוב כהן מבית העיריה עדה ז"ל שכנתו המעוררת השראה הייתה רוכבת על וספה עם סירה גרה צמוד סיפרה שפגשה במאיר דיזינגוב לא אחת מאיר סרב לקחת שכר אמר שיש לו די איש מיוחד .. לילה לבן חוגגים כאן ,ועוד המון אירועים שפתוחים לנו השכנים ,"עץ בעיר" עשו גינות קהילתיות .(שווה לעם בדקו בגוגל ודש ממני).למדתי לצעוד על המדרגות המיוחדות הללו וכן ילדי חח ..הספקתי לצלמה בסופת ברד שנערמו 15 סמ שכונה קסומה חייתי בנווה אביבים שיכון דן ועוד.. זו...
