Abulafia — Restaurant in Tel-Aviv

I live literally 1 minute away so I used to order here several times a week. The food and the coffee is excellent, however this is the last time I go here because they lack of customer service. I had a technical problem with my credit card and as I was reloading it they dragged my food away from me as I was some kind of cheap bandit.. For 36 shekels ffs… For coffee and baked goods better go to Aroma on the right which is always guarantee or for sandwiches better go to El Dali to the left, they are extremely friendly and polite and they make everything with fresh ingredients in front of you plus they always give you something extra. This Arabic Cafe is located across the street from Shuk Hakarmel. I ordered a Turkush coffee and a bachlawa dessert-pastry. Both were very disappointing. The Turkish coffee was just ground coffee to which the added hot water and not coffee boiled in a finjan. The bachlawa was obviously not fresh. It was somewhat dry, tasted stale and not even as sweet as one would expect bachlawa to be. The single stall washrooms was not clean and the toilet paper roll was not in dispenser but placed on the commode. No paper towels by the handwashing sink. Not very hygienic... Avoid at all costs!

We had baklava with pistaccios and it was the absolute worst baklava we have ever had. No buttery taste, weird tasting sugar syrup and even the green little things inside that are supposed to be pistaccios tasted like something else entirely. On top of that we paid 32 shekels for 4 baklavas which felt like a complete rip off. The staff apparently just adjusts the price according to whether you are a local or tourist. You can get way better sweets in Tel Aviv...
