We have just returned from here and had such a fantastic holiday! We booked one of the Charme 2 chalets and I have to say it was fine..small but a nice base. Very close to a noisy road (which was thankful not as noisy at night) so if you can, try and choose chalets further away from the road where you can’t hear the traffic. Two comments for the staff is please put in a long mirror, sharing one small bathroom mirror was not ideal and secondly a toaster would have been a bonus. |The ‘top’ swimming pool was absolutely stunning, one of the best I've seen for a shared pool. Lovely surroundings, clean, bar for drinks and snacks and beautiful water! The whole camping village was so well equipped and everyone was so lovely and it seemed quite a calm place. You can exit into the lake via two gates (you get bands with a chip so you can exit and enter freely) and turn left for Bardolino (lovely 20 mins stroll to the main square) or right to Garda (slightly shorter stroll) with bars and restaurants on the way to both. We hired bikes from La Rocca (in the shop opposite the supermarket) and it was really simple and quick. The paths by the lake are perfect for cycling (flat and smooth) and our boys (12 & 9) loved it too. We also hired paddle boards and kayaks from surf point which is also part of La Rocca. Again never simple and very helpful staff. There was nightly entertainment for kids that started at 9pm for 1 hour but we were always out eating dinner in the nearby towns. The Caneva waterpark was BRILLIANT! Really great rides (queues were approx 30 mins and in the shade mostly) the crazy river ride was hilarious - you have to try it to know what I mean!! All in all, I absolutely loved this holiday and La Rocca really was a fab base...
Read moreWe stayed in an Aquaborgo caravan, which are some of the most expensive on site, however the position of it meant that it was quite noisy. We were very close to the recycling bins and waste bins which were emptied at about 7am each morning. The noise of the lorries woke us up each day. The bottle recycling bin being emptied was particularly loud. We were also opposite the children's playground and a car park; all contributed to the morning noise. A tannoy from the entertainment team at approximately 8.50 am always ensured we were wide awake. I don't think anyone is allowed to stay in bed here. A leaflet for each week with the info on would be less harsh. The Aquaborgo caravan was advertised as having a garden area and hammock. Upon arrival it was clear that there was no hammock, no garden area and the BBQ was in the carpark next to the caravan. We had other people parking their cars right up to our steps and BBQ and this caused friction for the duration of our stay. The particular Aquaborgo we were in lacked the space and privacy of the others. It was surrounded by car park. The whirlpool upon arrival had sand in it and the water didn't look clean. We were not convinced that the water had been changed. Although we did receive a small partial refund for these issues, and the response to our complaints was prompt, it was very disappointing. On a positive note, the whole complex is clean; the pool is lovely, the animation team are fabulous with the children; the restaurant service and food are excellent and the position of La Rocca is perfect for exploring Bardolino and Garda. I'd recommend it, but i'd check first the exact position of your...
Read moreI've been coming to the campsite since I was 8 years old and have seen it get better and better each year. I love the location and will always return. However I was disappointed with Eleanor, after a rubbish year breaking my back in a bad accident I was looking forward to this holiday as I always do. Booking in advance as I have always have tried to do to secure a pitch by the lake I was looking forward to turning up with my pitch ready, instead I was on a spot 5 rows back. Eduardo was great and tried his best to resolve the issue which in the end he did which I was very happy with. But after a conversation with Eleanor about me booking a lake side pitch, she proceeded to argue with me and was beyond rude when she told me "FOR ME YOU CAN LEAVE THE CAMPSITE". I was taken back by this especially as I have been coming for so long, longer then Eleanor.
I know my mum also had trouble with Eleanor being consistanly rude, she even accused my mum of not paying in advance when she had, and even though she proved it at the start of her stay she accused her the second time when leaving.
I love Italy and I love camping la rocca and will always try to return as it's a place close to my heart for many reasons.
This year was exactly the same apart from Eleanor ruining the start of my holiday, I don't normally right reviews but felt the need after my...
