Had a great experience at San Fruttuoso!! We stayed at the beach for a while before we decided to go exploring along the coast. We followed a path and climbed down some rocks down to the sea and swam from there. We accidentally found the Christ statue about 15 metres out from the coast, a really cool surprise! I’ve never seen water this blue and clear before. Definitely recommend bringing glasses or a snorkelling set, so you can look at all the fish and cool stuff under the surface (and...

Really powerful experience. If swimming from San Fruttuoso, keep to the left side of the bay, heading to the most prominent headland. It's a decent swim but surrounded by boats and SUPs. Just before reaching the headland, in the area close to the cliffs, protected by buoys is a broad cove. Search for a bright white disc. Right next to this...

This place is very overcrowded in August and looks like tourist trap now.

Nature is beautiful, everything else is bad.

Restaurants are bad and overpriced, attitude is bad.

It seems like this place used to be cool 20 years or maybe it is worth visiting off-season or late evening if you stay in the only hotel there.

In other cases...

If you need a new destination in Italy this is it! What to do in Portofino: 1. Visit the castle Brown situated on top of the hill and enjoy the views over the town you see it in the Reel) 2. Eat pasta (obviously!) at one of the restaurant in the city on the Piazza and enjoy the views (pictured) 3. Have some local gelato and stroll through the city (we know, a classic!) 4. Visit Cervara Abbey - It is a jewel with beautiful gardens, located on a cliff above the sea, between Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. 5. Visit Christ of the Abyss - a submerged bronze statue of Jesus Christ by Guido Galletti, the original cast of which is located in the Mediterranean Sea, off San Fruttuoso, between Camogli and Portofino 6. Have a cocktail at Faro di Portofino- A lighthouse reached by hiking that offers an outdoor cocktail bar with sweeping ocean views. SAVE this post for later or tell us, have you been to Portofino? 🥰
