The castle itself is interesting and the frescoes, although small, are beautiful, but the views south to Monte Brione and the Northern shore of Lago Di Garda are possibly the best thing about visiting the castle. There are still some of the walls of the structure, but you are visiting what is a ruin. There is a video presentation telling the history of the site (in Italian with English subtitles) in a room built incorporating part of the original castle building and the fresco is in a re-roofed room at the end of the site. The areas around the castle are used for concerts and other art events and there is a small coffee bar selling drinks and snacks just outside the castle. This means that you can come up to take in the views and have a drink or snack without having to pay to enter the castle. There are also toilets here. The path to the castle starts at the north eastern corner of the main square in Arco. The walk up is on paved surfaces through very old olive trees. There are places to sit, rest and take in the views, but the paths are steep and it's not just a gentle stroll to reach the castle. Depending on how fit you are, it could take between 15 and 30 minutes to climb up to the castle. If you visit Arco it is well worth adding the castle to your to-do list as you get fantastic views of the town and surroundings. Useful to know: people over the age of 60 pay a reduced price to...

Embarking on this hike is an invigorating experience, but it's essential to be well-prepared. The trail is quite steep, so ensure you're wearing sturdy shoes to navigate the incline comfortably. The ascent takes around 15 minutes, so be ready for a bit of a workout. Given the effort required, it's best to tackle this hike on a cooler day to avoid overheating and to make the climb more pleasant.

The path is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, making the effort worthwhile. As you ascend, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views that unfold with each step. The fresh air and serene environment provide a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The tranquility of the surroundings allows for a moment of reflection and appreciation of nature's wonders.

Once you reach the top, the sense of accomplishment is immense. The panoramic vistas are nothing short of spectacular, offering a perfect spot to rest and take in the scenery. Whether you're an avid hiker or just looking for a brief adventure, this trail promises a fulfilling experience. Just remember to lace up your shoes, prepare for the upward journey, and enjoy the refreshing coolness of...

We didn't go inside the castle but rather wanted to see the view, which is mostly of the town below. You can't see much of lake Garda so don't climb here if you came for that :-)

However, the old town is beautiful and walking through the small charming streets is also nice. It take around 20 min from the parking to the top.

Also, you must leave your car in the parking area below the castle. Give your navigation app the parking spot and not this spot (the castle) because you cant drive a car there (ZTL Zone), if you do you might get a fine!

In the parking area there is a while zone for locals with card "wheel",and a blue zone for guests - you must pay at the machine (English is available) and put the ticket on your...
