Unfortunately, it is not worth making a special trip from Olbia as a tourist just to visit here. If you do go, I strongly recommend combining it with a visit to the beautiful beaches nearby. Inside the aquarium, there were only a small variety of fish, and unfortunately, including the ticket price, it did not meet our expectations. That said, we could see the effort and dedication put into running the facility, and for that reason, we want to support the aquarium. Please consider increasing the variety of species, the number of tanks, and the number of research findings presented by the aquarium staff. This will undoubtedly enhance the appeal of the exhibits.

As an idea for improving the exhibition’s appeal, I encourage you to visit aquariums in rural areas of Japan rather than in major cities. I believe you will find them inspiring.

We look forward to seeing what you will achieve...

It is an interesting display of animals in nearby and slightly more distant nature. The larger part is dedicated to the display of local animal species, which is also the purpose of this local aquarium, and part also to the display of animals from tropical oceans (or seas). In addition to various fish, we can also see live corals, various crabs, jellyfish, snails, turtles, .. Each display is supported by a detailed description. Very useful. The vast majority of descriptions are also translated into English. At the exit, as everywhere, you can buy souvenirs. There is also a small bar in the aquarium. A few reserved parking spaces for visitors and that's it. Worth a visit? Yes, without a doubt, for those in a hurry, half an hour is enough, for those who have more time and especially enjoy their vacation at this location + read detailed descriptions, from an hour onward... I...

I agree with the majority of reviews. The aquarium is indeed small but we'll stocked with some fascinating species including upside down jellyfish and lionfish. The turtle is a joy to watch and it's nice to know that it was rescued and nursed back to health. Being blind it is the best place for it to be. Of course one would wish for a larger tank for him but the current one is adequate. I do however take issue with the habitat provided for the fox. Noble as it is to rescue and treat its injuries I cannot help feeling sad to see it confined to such a tiny enclosure. I agree it cannot return to the wild but it should have a bigger enclosure. I believe a small mammal such as this should be kept in an area at least four times as big as this. And efforts should be made to find a suitable companion even if it were a...

The Cala Gonone aquarium is a small pearl of this area. Courteous and professional staff. The exhibition itinerary consists of 25 tanks and two terrariums: tropical tanks, piranhas and jellyfish. Signs and leaflets in Italian and English. It is also home to two animals that have been rescued: a Caretta Caretta turtle and a fox. Gift shop and snack bar. Better check the website before the visit for variations in prices and opening times. Excellent management of anti Covid security measures.

It's Ok. Cost us €50 and change to visit for a family of 5 (2x tens and a 10 year old) and it's a small place. If you rush though it's a 15 min visit. To get your moneys worth you need to spend time reading the exhibits and information. For 2 teens taking selfies and not wanting to read them I don't recommend it. There are some Interesting exhibits and I enjoyed it, but be war d if you have kids that don't want to a tand and read the information then this might be a very short visit.
