We should’ve taken more more of the review below us. Normally we take low reviews with a grain of salt but unfortunately they were correct.
Just had dinner, and it was appalling. Hard to decide what was worse - the curdled, clumpy, cold, and undercooked egg white carbonara or the waitress with short, darkish hair and highlights. Took a few bites of the pasta, left the bowl over 3/4 full, and not a single waiter checked on our meal. When we asked for the bill, she cleared a full plate without even asking how everything was.
We weren’t given a chance to give feedback as it was difficult to get a server’s attention. When clearing our plates and taking payment, the waitress seemed more interested in taking our money than checking on our experience.
The seafood pasta my husband had was good. Unfortunately, the bread was stale.
My husband and I have over 20 years in hospitality, and this was easily one of the worst services we’ve had. The young male waiters were pleasant, but the overall service was zero. Really disappointing.
This was our last night in Cala Gonone, and it’s a shame this is the memory. The only redeeming factors? The view, the Prosecco, and the stray cat (who had better hospitality skills than the staff).

I never said it was a scary experience. It’s also easier for your staff to do their job properly. If they had checked on us even once during the meal, we could have addressed the issue right then and there. Instead, we were left with underwhelming food and no opportunity to give feedback in person. Clearing a plate of mostly untouched food without a single question shows a lack of care for the customer experience. So take some responsibility instead of deflecting. Read moreI took my husband here to celebrate a special occasion. The scenic view and table by the sea was amazing and most waiters and staff were really accommodating and nice. The food was average and seafood wasn’t as fresh. Nevertheless, I wanted to say I’d come back here but the short hair with highlights female waitress who’s about 5’2 tall made the ambiance ugly. She was the only female staff that night and her energy didn’t match the hospitality job. Face was all grumpy and felt like the world was gonna end on her shoulders or seem to not like her job. Overall she ruined the night, made me feel uncomfortable and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all because of her.

My husband even jokingly said that the waitress poured wine and got a better service when I was in the loo. Funny how its management let unwell employees (according to their statement) serve food to the guest. I dont want to think about contamination but a sick person should not be serving food and dealing with guests. If you look at the reviews where guests imply where they need to improve on, they don’t take accountability to their actions towards the unsatisfied paying customer. A simple apology and trying to address the issue would’ve been enough instead of adding fuel to the fire. Avoid this place...
Read moreThe view is beautiful, but the food is bad. Carbonara is not carbonara at all, not delicious + it’s not the original recipe, while the price is of course high. Mixed seafood grill is small, very crispy because of deep fryer, and includes potatoes - for what? It looks like a street food, but not a restaurant food. Staff is a little bit arrogant, especially the girls. Do not recommend this place for those who want to have a good dinner with high quality dishes.
UPD: the owner decided to generate some absolutely unthinkable and unreal story, so my assumption is that the owners either confused us with some other group, or replied so to insult us and to hide the real problem with their restaurant, or they are just not aware of what customer success is.
