Overall I have mixed feelings about the beach. It got pretty crowded even in the evening, and also it’s a surfing school territory so the swimming area is really small and delineated. The water is also pretty shallow. It was very windy at the end of August which was great for surfing but not as good for swimming or laying on a sandy beach. Per raggiungere la Spiaggia di Porto Pollo e la vicina Isola dei Gabbiani bisogna traguardare metri e metri di costosissimi parcheggi a pagamento da cui si diparte una strada sterrata che in una decina di minuti vi porterà al mare.

Se cercate pace e serenità NON è il luogo adatto a voi: Porto Pollo è infatti una delle mete preferite dai giovani e dai surfisti che vi si affollano alla ricerca della buena onda o più semplicemente di uno dei tanti aperitivi con dj-set pronti a fare capolino nella golden hour. La stretta lingua di terra è infatti costellata ambo i lati da cherenguiti e chioschi in cui è possibile noleggiare attrezzatura per gli sport acquatici e prendere lezioni di surf / windsurf / wakeboard e wingsurf.

La particolarità risiede nel fatto che - se un versante è esposto ai venti (e quindi alle orde di surfisti e wannabes) - il lato opposto del litorale gode di una relativa calma, sabbia finissima e mare piatto come una tavola, starà dunque a voi scegliere se gettarvi nella movida o godervi la siesta.

If you’re into your water sports and a bustling beach bar scene then this will be a five star place for you. I’m not particularly so I found it very crowded and not very suitable for anyone wanting to swim or snorkel as the entire beach is filled with windsurfers and kite surfers.
