Palazzo del Ghiaccio — Attraction in Milan

I was here for an Rainbow Six: Siege Pro League Finals held 18-19th of May 2019.

The event itself was amazing and definitely would come again even if it would be at the same venue.

Venue as one isn't that amazing. Beautiful base to build anything you'd like. A decently sized venue. I have no idea of the statistics of how many people attended and how much staff it required.

Location of the venue was alright but getting out of there late at night was a bit troublesome. Getting there was really easy.

Cafe is alright but probably due to the event the menu was lack luster. You would be better off going outside to eat if you want lunch or dinner.

Clothes storage was really nice and well kept! Quick service, good English and of course Italian.

Toilet situation was actually really nice. Given that I've seen whole lot worse ones. Even if the people can't pee into the toilet, overall cleaniless was okay.

Media room (windowed) looked really nice. The top vip section also looked nice what I saw from...

Il Palazzo del Ghiaccio è uno spazio unico nel centro di Milano. Al grande parterre di oltre 2400 metri quadrati, si affiancano altri spazi, più ridotti, di varie metrature, utilizzabili in modo complementare, in base alle esigenze. Alla struttura si accede tramite un ampio foyer, all’interno del quale si trovano l’accoglienza e il guardaroba. Particolare architettura ad arcate ferree nella copertura.

Sfilate di moda, serate di gala, mostre, incontri culturali, meeting aziendali, concerti e spettacoli teatrali trovano nel Palazzo del Ghiaccio una cornice pienamente funzionale che coniuga fascino e stile all’avanguardia.

Il Palazzo del Ghiaccio di Milano è uno splendido edificio in stile Liberty in via Piranesi (zona Porta Vittoria) voluto dal campione nazionale di pattinaggio, il Conte Alberto Bonacossa, e inaugurato il 28 dicembre 1923. Con i suoi 1800 metri quadrati di pista, il Palazzo era, all’epoca, la principale pista ghiaccio coperta d’Europa e una delle più grandi al mondo. L’imponente copertura in ferro, legno e vetro costituiva un felice incontro di virtuosismo architettonico e rigore ingegneristico. Duramente colpito dai bombardamenti della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, che hanno gravemente danneggiato le decorazioni dell’interno, il Palazzo del Ghiaccio ha riaperto al pubblico dopo il conflitto, rimanendo attivo fino al 2002. I can't evaluate properly this building because I visited for a company convenient, thus not in its proper function of a sport arena. In any case I found a very well organized and clean foyer and entrance with cloackrooms and bathrooms very functional and clean.
