Klin — Attraction in Trieste

My favourite experiences and adventures are delicious, fun, delightful, entertaining and educating. This sums up the wine tasting and village tour offered by Katrin at Klin Wines in Contovello - Prosecco near Trieste.

Katrin is a master Sommelier, Wine Maker, Storyteller and her personable and fun ways of conveying her extensive wine and regional history knowledge made me not only immediately feel at home but want to come back for more.

This wonderful tour and tasting is by far the best wine tasting experience I have had as it packages so much more into it: an hour long tour through the narrow streets of the charming village of Contovello - Contovel (all place names here are bilingual in Italian and Slovenian) offering super interesting details about this place's incredible history sprinkled with fabulous views of Trieste, the Slovenian and even a bit of the Croatia coastline and the Upper Mediterranean Sea. An absolutely delicious, Osmiza style, meal containing typical, locally made cold cuts and cheeses from the region, even accommodating to some guest's vegetarian preferences. Wine tasting of three absolutely delicious wines made by "Methode Ancestrale" (following original processes) by her from her own grown grapes including of course her original Prosecco and her delicious wine called Puxx - a red sparkling wine A tour of her small but mighty wine cellar with a demonstration of the various steps of bottling Prosecco and another outstanding, yellow-wine called Viktor. Katrin's humour and storytelling skills displaying her passion and love for her winemaking work

This tour was so interesting, delicious and fun that I highly recommend it to anyone and I am already planning to return to Klin with my family on my next trip to the region.

Wiine tasting experience with Katarina was absolutely delightful from start to finish! Katarina's passion and positive attitude were infectious, making the entire session incredibly engaging and enjoyable. My friends and I booked the wine experience at the Klin vineyard with Katrin. I must say we had a great time, learned a lot about the area, Contovello-Prosecco, the culture and the wine making process itself. It is amazing to hear the stories directly from the person who is actually doing the wine, treating the plants, taking care that all the process is as natural as possible and owning the business... A part from all this, the location and landscape on top of the hills with a view of sea and Trieste bay, is breathtaking. Katrin is very knowledgeable about wine, plants and the history behind the Trieste area. She transmits the love she has for her work and communicates perfectly and in all the languages!
