There are so many negative points that it's as frustrating to write about as it is to have experienced it.
Extremely lacking in attraction for teenagers and adults (3-4 attractions). The majority of attractions focus on little ones, which, considering the price paid, is extremely expensive and disproportionate. Not to mention the lack of carts for each ride. Why do your rides only carry 6/10 people? And your rides last about 1 minute?
We had trouble finding ourselves in the park even if it's not huge. There was no indication in the park.
Smoking sections should be prohibited in this kind of place crowded with children! We saw 12 year olds smoking. If you find a seat on the ground, even if you are far away, you will get smoked by cigarettes. Or, like my children, who were smoked in the queues of the rides.
What I hated the most about my experience was the way they tried to COPY Disney and Universal Studios, for a Disney fan, it's frankly disgusting. You're not creative enough to invent your own park from scratch?
Seating in the shade is extremely rare, so be prepared to suffer from sunstroke/heat stroke on a hot, sunny day. The seats are missing, shades or not anyway.
I found people very disrespectful. Groups of young people place a friend in the line of the ride, the queue moves forward, and when the person arrives in turn, 10 to 15 other young people join him/her. This ploy is done by more than a few in the queues. The lack of respect and lack of good manners among these young people means that everyone who waits politely overtakes them, which sometimes lengthens the line by several hours.
The park should also offer an "accompanying person" ticket because, for my part, the mother, I didn't go on any rides, but I still paid the full price, which is a steal.
Know that the scam does not stop there!! If you buy your tickets the day before online, they are half price... BUT PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS ONLY ADDRESSED TO ITALIANS WHO HAVE AN ITALIAN POSTAL CODE!!
So after you try for hours to save a few euros, and the site doesn't work at all, you find yourself paying double that same day at the park. That's what I...
Read moreRainbow Magicland is a fantastic theme park with a lot of different options to cater for different age groups (including adults, teens and children.) The park is very quiet in the mornings until around 1pm with only 10-20 other people in the park. (during the month of July in my limited testing) this jumps gradually to more people in the late afternoon but the park still remains extremely quiet with less than 500 or so at any given time. The size of the park is impressive and the layout is extremely well thought out offering shaded areas, water fountains, cafes, eateries, rides, arcade machines, gift shops and many many more. All of the water based rides are amazing fun and I recommend them highly! Leaving the park and returning later is something staff have no problem with which gives you a chance to walk across the road (3 minutes) to the Valmontone Outlets to do some shopping or grab some KFC, Burger King or other fast food not offered in the park. The pricing for snacks within the park is very reasonable and restrooms are free of charge (something incredibly rare in Italy.) There is easy access to this incredible theme park via a free shuttle bus from Volmontone Station (single tickets to Volmontone from Rome cost 3 euros and return tickets are also available for 6 euros.) Rainbow Magicland is more than worth a day (or 2 if intending to go to the outlets across as those may take a day to accomplish on...
Read moreGetting there was a nightmare. Unfortunately we waited for the shuttle which leaves from termini at the wrong place. In some reviews we found that we had to catch the bus from via marsala 71 but after waiting for 45 mins we realised that on the official site of rainbow magicland there was written no 7 via marsala. Apparently the number of the stop had changed so we missed the shuttle. So we took a train to valmontone to then discover that the free shuttle bus to rainbow magicland from valmontone station was not available. Even after contacting rainbow magicland, the advice that was given was to get a taxi. Pity we were a group of 14 . So we decided to walk. A 50 min walk which thanks to google maps we arrived there at 12md. The attractions were lovely but the times varied from the brochure that they give you at the entrance. For example the alladin musical was supposed to start at 3pm but when we arrived there , written on the door was that it started at 2.45pm. At 5pm all the attractions closed , not at 6pm as expected and we were politely ushered towards the entrance. Getting back was another nightmare as apparently no one knew if we could pay and get the bus back so we had to walk back another hour to valmontone station. It is a pity that no one thinks of acessibility for tourists who do not have a car. A very nice park which unfortunately caters only for people who can drive...
