There are not enough stars to rate Le Vigne di Raito. A truly spectacular place for many reasons. Arriving in the small village of Raito, we were greated by Alfonso, whose knowledge of wine, science, history, and philosophy fuse together to offer one of the most interesting vineyard tours I have ever been on. So much so that you almost forget you are on a tour and begin to feel like you are engaging in a stimulating conversation with an old friend. Ascending to the top of the property, you feel hypnotized by the natural beauty of the vineyard and the coast. I highly recommend staying for dinner. The wine selection offered is a flawless performance of variety and quality. The food is both sophisticated and grounded by the roots of local produce and tradition. Patrizia, the owner, is remarkable to say the least. Her passion pulses through the land, wine and food. In all transparency, 2021 marks my third visit to the vineyard. Le Vigne di Raito draws me back with every...

Well, if you happen to be within a 50 miles radius of Raito, you should absolutely visit. I did the great tour with my wife, which included walking up and down the marvelous property with a well-spoken, immediately sympathetic guide and then we got to sit down to eat the wonderful meal that Patrizia, the great woman responsible for all this existing, cooked for us. And we had her wine. All of it was organic and delicious. We've spent 10 days on the coast, seen some great things and had many great meals but that day... That day was special. We'll never forget it. Pure,...
Read moreFor me, this winery tour was close to perfection. The very knowledgeable Al(fonso) was our host. Sitting in the shade of lemon trees he talked us through the history of the winery and the organic method they use. We then went inside to look at the wine making, storage and bottling equipment, while Al described the process. We then took a walk up the vineyard being shown the different grapes and other useful plants they are growing. Finally, on a terrace at the top, we had delicious home made food of local origin, tasted the wines (which are excellent) and it was completed with their own magnificent limoncello. The backdrop to all of this was the stunning view down to the town, across Salerno and away to the distant mountains. All of this wrapped around the deep blue of the sea. I was blown away by this experience. Huge thanks to Al and the winery owners for their...
