Makuhari Funadamariato Park — Attraction in Chiba

This is a very spacious park offering grassy open areas, a playground for children (features a new boat-themed climbing and slide play area as of 2024), sandpit, and there's also the sporting fields (baseball and tennis courts) for adults. There are tree-sheltered benches near the tennis courts, drink machines behind the baseball diamond, and restrooms. No soap provided for the toilets so make sure to bring your own travel soaps or hand-cleaners. There isn't a lot of night-lighting along the pathways and some pretty secluded portions of the park are surprisingly dark and isolated for something in the middle of a city - my family has been approached by a raccoon at least once when going to this park at night so there are some wild animals using this place as part of their territory. People constantly take their dogs through here, which is kind of unfortunate considering little children wind up running around trying to play in areas that pet owners use for less sanitary purposes. It'd be nice if there was a specific area set aside for pet use and the rest of the grounds kept pet free and clean...
